Dyson DC-07 All Floors Vacuum
The Dyson DC-07 All Floors is one of the older models (the original yellow one), but it's great. It has a bare floors setting for hardwood, tile, and linoleum and a carpet setting for carpet. The telescoping wand is great for cleaning up high, down low, or in crevices!
One slightl disadvantage is that you are not supposed to vacuum very fine powders like a carpet deodorizing powder or flower with this vacuum, if you accidentally do--be sure to wash the blue filter and the white filter (see your instruction booklet or call their toll-free help, which is awesome!) and let it fully dry. You...

I work at a small company and we recently needed a new vacuum. My coworker was dying to get a Dyson, so we decided to get one. It was more expensive than the boss wanted to pay, but since we heard nothing but good reviews he figured it was worth the investment. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. I will admit the business does get plenty of foot traffic, so vacuuming every night it needed to pick up a lot of dirt. But even so, after the first month it did not pick up as much, and now about 6 months later it hardly picks up anything at all. It is not very powerful and...

So I sprung for a Dyson. I have now had it for 5 years and it's still going strong just like the day that I bought it. It is easy to use and take apart if there is a problem with something getting clogged in it. You can also clean up an entire flight of stairs while the heavy base unit is on the bottom level which is easy on the stairs, the...

She's a pricey little piece of machinery, but she's worth every penny. We have two dogs and a mix of hardwood floors and carpeting and I have to say this vacuum stands up to each surface without any problems. Not even the dog hair and dirt dragged in stands a chance.
I've compared it against other vacuums that I've had in the past, and there really just isn't a comparison. The only real downfall, other than that hefty price tag, is that it's a slightly cumbersome on stairs. The hose and stair attachment are a little bit awkward to wield. I've tried starting at the top and starting at the bottom...
