I previously owned a Dyson look-a-like and it worked well on regular carpet...but it was horrible with barber carpet (which we have wall-to-wall in most of the house) and it didn't work at all on my kitchen floor. Well when it finally took a dive just after Christmas (the pine needles did it in) my husband convinced me to spend the extra money and finally get a Dyson. It was one of the best investment I have ever made. When will I learn to listen to that man? — The Dyson is very powerful. It makes the regular carpet in my bedroom look like new every time I…

neat freak, a homeowner, Mr. Fix-it, a green thumb
I purchased the Dyson DC07 two (2) years or so back for my wife and by far it was the best present I ever gave her. She is not the neat freak like myself but she loved that vacumn so much she vacumned at least six (6) times a day. She learned after she had our toddler who will be three (3) soon; that vacumning was great for the abs and after declaring the Dyson DC07 to be God's greatest gift in vacumns; to open the door to a silent house would startle me for fear something was wrong, because she never stopped vacumning. It seemed as if she would…

This vacuum works ok, but it does lose suction. I vacuum about twice a week, on both carpet and tile floors. I have to use the hose with the brush attachment for it to work on the tile floors, otherwise it just blows stuff around. About once every 2 weeks I have to take the filter completely out and vacuum it clean with a shop vac in order for the suction to be ok. It's got great attachments that are easy to use, it's easy to emply and it has a nice long cord. Also, we had to order a replacement hose after we got a tear in the original one. It was very easy…

Not a fan of housecleaning, a woman, not fond of cleaning, willing to pay more for quality, not rich, loving this product, Track in a lot of dirt, practical
I bought the rebuilt model at Big Lots & couldn't be happier. As the caretaker of 5 dogs, 4 cats, plus foster dogs, I need a tough, bagless vacuum - the cost of buying bags with this many animals would be a killer. The Dyson has held up beautifully. It did actually clog once, but that was my fault for being too lazy to pick up a big piece of dog toy instead of trying to vacuum it up - but the clog was easy to correct & absolutely no problems since then. — It is not too heavy to push, the attachments are convenient & useful, and overall this is a great piece of…

Any vacuum that will suck the cheerios, I mean all of them, even the ones he has smashed into dust, off of my toddler's high chair is #1 in my book! Not to mention suck up everything in site off of any surface. I do not understand why people say the Dyson does not suck up pine needles??? It sucked up every one of mine. I do not find that it is easily clogged either. Ours has only become clogged one time and because the thing comes apart at every conceivable place it was easy to fix. — — This is a must have vacuum for parents and pet owners. …

I asked for this Dyson for a wedding present and was so excited to actually receive it. I tested out every vacuum in the stores and this seemed to be constructed of the most sturdy materials (others were made of very cheap plastic). Long story short, although it is sturdy and constructed well, there are many design flaws that make it not worth the cost. — First, if you live with any females or animals, you know hair (strings, etc.) gets caught underneath the belts and occasionally needs to be cleaned. Good luck with this model!! The belt is wound so…

too busy to make beds, neat freak, a homeowner, not very handy, a green thumb, picking up after pets, messy
I've owned my Dyson for over 4 years. I was a little weary about spending $400.00 on a vacuum cleaner, but after reading all the reviews I decided to give it a try...after all, I have 90 days to return it. It's very simple to put together...everything "snaps" perfectly into place. The attachments don't fall off the vacuum like they did on my Hoover and the cord length of the Dyson is GREAT! The hose reaches the entire length of my steps without the vacuum falling over. It is a LITTLE quieter than other vacuums...but not as quiet as I expected. My previous vacuum was a Hoover bagless…

I've had my Dyson only 6 hours now and I couldn't wait to review it. — — The Pros: — -Really gets down in the carpet. It gets tons of dirt that I didn't even know was there. — -Makes my carpet feel softer — -It's Quiet — -It's very smooth when running. Not hard to push and basically glides. — -No bags or filters! It's incredibly easy to empty. — -The Dyson people give a 5 year warranty. No extra costs. — -Great for pet owners. I have 2 cats and didn't realize how much hair was hiding in the carpet until Dyson came along. Heck, I…

too busy to make beds
I've been through my share of vacuum cleaners, and this is, by far, the best I've ever used. The commercials are right -- it really doesn't lose suction. Well, one time it did, but it had five crayons stuck in the hose, so I can forgive it for that. But, listen, it actually sucked up all of those crayons! It automatically adjusts for height, so I can go from my carpeted living room to the tiled foyer back to carpeted hallway without stopping, and it does just fine. There is an adjustment so you can turn off the beater brush for bare floors if you want to. —…

My husband bought me the Dyson 3 years ago for my birthday. I was pregnant and due in 1 month and he wanted to get me something that would make cleaner easier and better for our family. My 3 1/2 year old was just diagnosed with asthma and he thought this would help with the dust and dirt in the house. At first it worked wonderful! I loved it, had to clean out the filter more then I cared to do but it worked wonderful. Then 1 year later, the day before my daughters birthday party. It stopped sucking. I cleaned it (and waited the 12 hours for it to dry)…

— At first, I find this vacuum difficult to use, especially when try to detach and attach the hose back to the upright. Now that I've get used to it, it is alright but I still find it very inconvenient to do a fast vacuum as alot of places I would need to use the hose and attachments, and when I need to use them, I have to uncoil the whole length of electrical code or, even when I do not need to use the whole length of it. Then when I need to keep it, I'll have to coil them back which is a hassle as I sometimes just want to use the hose or attachment for a small job which I bring the…

We started our lives as pet owners with a Hoover Windtunnel. We thought it was a perfectly good vacuum. It was only 3 years old a the time. But we noticed that our carpet got darker and darker the longer we had our dog, and we realized it really wasn't picking all the dog hair up. — — After hearing rave reviews about the Dyson, and then being diagnosed with severe allergies to animal dander, we decided to give the Dyson a go. — — Uh, WOW! We vacuumed with the Hoover earlier that day, and then again with the Dyson after it was arrived that…

We have had to purchase a new vacuum cleaner every 2 to 3 years of our 23 year marriage. The last time I priced vacuums at an average of $100, I thought the Dyson is $400, but if it last as long as they say it is a value. Well it is! I have never seen so much stuff come out of my carpet, even when I steam cleaned them. And this went on for a month until it was down to what we truley mess up in a weeks time. So I know that it gets all that deep down dirt that was there from us and the previous owner of our home. I don't mind laying on our floor now--I…
