Dwell - At Home in the Modern World —

I stumbled onto Dwell magazine at my neighborhood Big Box do-it-yourself store. It's focused entirely on Modern interiors and exteriors, and features homes in various locations across the country.

Dwell could talk down to non-architects, but never does. It strikes a perfect balance for readers who are somewhat sophisticated, know their taste, and like to learn more. Plus, who can resist the voyeur aspect of peeking inside a really great house?

The Sources guide is fabulous as well.

I never heard of Dwell until reading your review. I was at Whole Foods this afternoon and saw it. I picked up a copy just bc of your review!!!

Having never read Dwell how does it compare to Metropolis, which I stopped subscribing to? It sounds like Dwell isn't as heavily focused on the architect-reader, which is what ultimately turned me off to Metropolis. Curious to hear if you've read that mag as well!
