I have a 4-year-old.  And--I think he eats batteries!  Well, his toys do anyway!  Our biggest culprit is a light and sound Star Wars Light Saber.  That thing eats 3 AA batteries every 5-7 days!

Enter the Duracell Rechargeable NiMH batteries!

I purchased these rechargeable batteries and the charger just before Christmas.  If you watch at CVS or Walgreens and match coupons, you can get $10 of batteries for almost nothing!

We immediately replaced the old AA batteries in the light saber with 3 fully charged AA Duracell Rechargeable NiMH batteries.  We found that the rechargeable batteries still needed to be replaced after 5-7 days, but now, instead of throwing them away, we can recharge them.  We've been recharging them for the last 4 months.  In that time, it appears that they are still just as effective as when they were brand new.

If my math is correct, these Duracell Rechargeable NiMH batteries that we are using in the light saber have paid for themselves in less than 6 weeks!  That's budget smart!

We are now also using them in my Kodak Z710 digital camera.  They are great.  I've got plenty of battery time for snapping photographs and the charger is small enough that it fits in my camera bag for easy storage and travel.

I would recommend Duracell Rechargeable NiMH batteries for anyone who needs batteries for toys and cameras.  I plan to find out what other sizes are available.
