FINALLY DU WOP has come out with another limited edition trio of ultra high quality for summer!

Many people buy MAC pigments and then press them because they do not like the fall out from the pigments.  It is almost impossible to find an eyeshadow that is equal in quality to MAC pigments pressed, which is why many people press them.  Now, however, DuWop has another trio which is the exact same quality as MAC pigments pressed, but they have more adhering qualities which, in my opinion, makes them better than ever!

WHAT IS 18 CARAT LIKE?

Since most of the people reading this will be comparing it to MAC pigments, let me start by saying that DUWOP HEAVY METAL CRUSH 18 CARAT is a trio of colors.  I am going to outline the colors and their closest counterparts in MAC pigment colors.

LIGHTEST PINK TAUPE- MAC Goldenaire (limited edition)

PEACH - A Cross of MAC Melon and MAC Tan pigments

PINKISH RED BRONZE- A Cross of finely milled MAC Rose pigment and MAC Pink Bronze

The texture of DUWOP HEAVY METAL CRUSH 18 CARAT is very metallic.  The pigmentation is fantastic.  Excellent coverage, yet highly blendable.  You can blend it out to be sheer if you like, although I prefer a heavy application.  This shadow can be used wet or dry.

18 Carat has excellent adhesive properties in it which makes it stay on the skin even better than many MAC pigments.  There is no fragrance, and with a nice eyeshadow base I have had no problems with irritation.

THERE IS NO TALC IN THIS EYESHADOW which makes it very approachable for people with allergies to talc.

COMMENTS ON PERFORMANCE

So far I really like DUWOP HEAVY METAL EYESHADOW TRIO CRUSH in 18 CARAT.  The colors are lovely in summer, very light colored but brighten the eye area nicely.

I find that the 18 CARAT trio looks nice on tanned skin, but looks especially gorgeous on people with red hair and green eyes.  It really glows then.  I would say that it is best to try it on if you don't have red hair, as this color can be tricky to wear.

I have worn it successfully with golden brown hair and blonde highlights but I have to be wearing peach and have coordinating makeup as well.  It does not make the skin show imperfections as much as some shiny shadows do, so this is worth trying on before you purchase if you can.

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS EYESHADOW

For those who are sensitive to ingredients, here is the information about this eyeshadow that might come in handy from the company:

Crush 18 Carat is paraben-free, sulfate-free, petro-chemical-free, free of synthetic fragrance, free of pthalates, contains no GMO's, no PPG's, no MEA's, DEA's, TEA's and is formaldehyde donor-free, and triclosan-free.

WHERE TO BUY

DUWOP HEAVY METAL CRUSH 18 CARAT eyeshadow can be purchased anywhere that sells DUWOP products.  I found it at Sephora.

www.sephora.com

www.duwop.com

The price is $24 but since this eyeshadow is completely talc free, it will be worth it for those who have allergies to talc.

Although I have a photo to the right of this review that compares DUWOP HEAVY METAL CRUSH 18 CARAT to MAC pigment counterparts, I will try to post photos of it on eyes in the future.

INTERESTING FUNNY THING

The packaging of this eyeshadow and labels on the shadow all spell the name as 18 CARAT, however, on DuWop's site, it is spelled 18 Karat.  HAHAHa.  Apparently there was a big oversight somewhere.  So if you are looking for information, try both spellings.  :)
