I've been wanting to try some DuWop products for some time as I see them on QVC all the time, only I wasn't willing to pay the price. DuWop products are typically quite expensive. So when I was browsing around Home Goods and came across DuWop Anti-Venom lipstick in the bath & body section for only $4 a tube, I snapped one up. There were only 2 colors - Ponytail and Belladonna - but there they were and they were cheap, cheap, cheap so I picked up one tube in Ponytail. While it's only an average lipstick, the color is really nice and is somewhat long-lasting. At only $4 a tube, I should have picked up a few more, when I consider that that is about a quarter of the regular retail price.
The Ponytail shade appeared to be a mauvy, purply pink when I viewed it thru the clear part of the tube and the color turned out to be absolutely perfect. The color is a very natural, youthful pink that looks good with whatever shade of clothing I'm wearing.
Anti-Venom applies smoothly and easily. The finish is matte and is slightly sheer. It doesn't really have a good taste or smell but I do pick up that classic, slightly Crayola crayon taste when I lick my lips. It wears off easily when eating or drinking so it's probably a good thing that it doesn't taste good as it keeps me from licking my lips. The weird thing is that it does stain my lips slightly so when the creaminess wears off, there is still a bit of color on my lips. Anti-Venom is not moisturizing but it doesn't dry my lips out either so I can't complain.
