Dryer Survey Results - See what Viewpoints members really think about their dryers
It's hard enough to shopping for a new dryer, but with each brand constantly bombarding us with commercials telling us they're the best, it's really hard to figure out which brand actually is the best.
That is, until now.
We sent out a survey asking Viewpoints members to rate their own dryers. Over 8,000 people responded to tell us what they really think about their dryers.
Members rated their dryers on a scale from 1-5, with 1 being "very satisfied" and 5 being "very dissatisfied," on the following criteria:
- Overall performance
- Value
- Reliability/Durability
- Features/Technology
- Style

Overall Performance
On the whole, people are pretty happy with their dryers. 83% of respondents said they were satisfied with the overall performance of their dryer.
Moreover, 90% of people who bought their washers less than a year ago were likely to recommend their dryer to a friend. But only 82% of people with a dryer that was at least five years old would recommend theirs to a friend.
Sizzling - Maytag
"I always love Maytag and I've never had problem with them. This is my top brand."
Lukewarm - Samsung
"Laundry comes out ready to put away. Minimal wrinkling of clothes."
Hung Out To Dry - Bosch
"My Bosch dryer has been repaired two or three times since I purchased it."
Value
When it came to value, 83% of respondents said they were satisfied. 42% of these people said they were very satisfied with the value of their dryer.
Sizzling - Kenmore
"Has served my family well for years, and is still going strong."
Lukewarm - LG
"This dryer has lasted longer than my marriage."
Hung Out To Dry - Bosch
"Some of the plastic housing has cracked, which apparently is common for Bosch. Given how expensive this brand is, it is annoying."
Reliability & Durability
82% of people said they were satisfied with the reliability and durability of their dryer. 45% of these people said they were very satisfied.
Sizzling - Samsung
"I've found the Samsung dryer performs just as well as higher end brands that cost a lot more. It's also just as stylish."
Lukewarm - GE Profile
"It's very reliable, lasted many years and still going strong."
Hung Out To Dry - Fisher & Paykel
"It had to be serviced within 3 months of purchase and tech never had the part."
Features & Technology
71% of respondents said they were satisfied with the features and technology of their dryer. But only 34% of these people said they were very satisfied.

"My dryer is the greatest; I love how it can turn itself off when it senses the clothes are dry!"
Lukewarm - GE Profile
"It makes me feel warm inside."
Hung Out To Dry - Amana
"It does not dry my clothes very well and makes this loud rumble noise like it will blow up."
Style
People who bought their dryer less than a year ago were a lot more satisfied with the style of their washer than those who got their dryer five or more years ago.
