Drugstore.com Review

Being a part of MyPoints.com has been an adventure that has paid for itself over and over.  Not only have I racked up a very respectable amount of points over the years but I also have learned about websites I might have been unaware of otherwise.  One of these is Drugstore.com. 

Besides filling prescriptions by mail (if you so desire), this online drug store and pharmacy provides an amazing arsenal of health, beauty and household related items including a line of books, gifts, and even snacks.  Toys and special treats for pets are also featured (this is my source for Three Dog Bakery Lick 'n Crunch Cookies) and occasionally some really wierd gizmo will surface, such as the plastic candy-cane shaped tube filled with "body frosting" which I included as a little joke with my Christmas gifts to a young couple a few years ago.  "Body frosting" is definitely something that would have never occurred to me had it not been for Drugstore.com.

I make about one order (sometimes two in an emergency) a quarter so I usually can take advantage of the "free shipping with an order of $49 or more" amenity.  There is no way to use manufacturers' coupons at this "drugstore" but each purchase earns 5% back by way of Drugstore Dollars to be used as a credit against a later purchase.  There are also a lot of great sales and this website has begun to come on board with occasional online coupons.  (If you access Drugstore.com through the portal site of MyPoints.com, you will also earn credit points for your purchase.)  Delivery (even with free standard shipping) usually happens within three days.

SHOPPER'S ADVISORY:

Nothing in this world is perfect and Drugstore.com is no exception.  One problem which I have noticed is that I'll become accustomed to buying some item on a regular basis and suddenly WHAMMY! the "item is no longer available."  It does not appear to be temporarily out of stock but rather Just Plain Gone.  Sometimes Drugstore.com steps up to the plate and tries to suggest a substitute for the item but this is not always satisfactory.

So if you find something you really like, STOCK UP WHILE YOU CAN!
