The Drudge Report is a great place to get a large sampling of current news stories.  This sight links to stories from many other sources and covers a wide range of current events issues.  It is good place to get your news when you are in a hurry.

Great place to go to get a quick (sometimes biased) view of news
technically savvy, an animal lover, Every day computer user, noticing the details, avid reader, Open-minded

sure, it's got a right-wing bias.  but ignore those blatantly obvious articles and this is a very useful site, a great way to get some of the biggest news of the day in a short amount of time.
