To the Point — We just finished listening to the excellent audio book-  CD - by Barack Obama called Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance. This guy really knows how to push all the emotional buttons. Dreams from My Father? Give me a break. Does he mean the father who the Kennedy's personally sponsored to come to America? The father who herded sheep in Africa? The father who married a "white girl from Kansas" and then left when their baby was two years old, never to be heard from again? Read this book to get acquainted with this candidate, and I was so impressed by his thoughtfulness, thoroughness and passion.  Although this book deals more with his personal history, a sense of the man behind the politics, it still hints at his positions and gives a great sense of him as a man of character, commitment, and common sense.
