Dr. Kerske has been our family's vet for a number of years.  I've had experiences with other vets when I did not live in this area, and am so happy to be able to have him again as our pets' vet.  I trust him explicitly with our animals care.

I don't typically post on theses types of things or even read them, but it popped up when I was searching for Dr. Kerske's phone number and was too lazy to leave the computer.  I felt compelled to write in support of Dr. Kerske's wonderful care.

When our nine year-old dog (like a son to us) recently became lethargic over the course of a few weeks and began urinating inside the house, we were mystified as to what was going on.  On our fist visit, Dr. Kerske did all necessary blood and urinary tests---looking for cancer, tick-borne illness, or something else.  Tests revealed our son had a UTI, but also a life-threatening blood disorder.  We rushed him to the animal hospital where he had a transfusion.  He is now recovered to an extent, though Dr. Kerske continues to monitor his health and his prescriptions.  (At first Dr. Kerske thought our boy's kidneys were failing, but he realized he was mistaken and told us that he'd made this mistake, no issues there.)  We don't know what caused the blood disorder and probably never will, but it could return at any time.  We have put the life of our dog in Dr. Kerske's continued care and wouldn't have it any other way.

Besides this event and seeing us through the life and death of two other dogs, Dr. Kerske has offered us low-cost spaying and neutering for our foster cats and kittens.  He also often offers less expensive remedies for issues, and is thoughtful about care--weighing such issues as removing a fatty tumor with putting an older dog under anesthesia.  I've never felt "over-charged" or bilked like you can sometimes feel after coming out of other vet's offices.  He's proactive, but conservative---doesn't jump on the latest trend or over prescribe meds.

I'm very surprised he got a poor rating from a client.  Like I said, we've been using him for years and he's never been anything but professional, compassionate and more than competent.  We respect him a great deal.  His support staff is also professional and courteous.
