I came across Dr. Foote by a recommendation from my mother, a Hospice nurse. After years of being medicated for depression, anxiety and a host of other problems, and running into proverbial walls with doctor after doctor, I was ready to give up on ever living a better life. After one particularly bad experience with a psychiatrist I decided that I'd follow my mother's advice and give Dr. Leslie Foote a chance.
My experience with Dr. Foote was overly positive and I left with a feeling of accomplishment - like I had finally found someone who would take my own feelings and thoughts into account when formulating a treatment plan. She genuinely listened to my symptoms and was ready to work with me, while gently putting her own thoughts and suspicions into action. I was sure that my problem was "xyz," and she obliged me and ran that test, but also ran tests for "zyx" because her experience told her that "zyx" was more likely. Wouldn't you know it, she was right on the money. I'm now completely off of all medications, with the exception of Hormone Replacement Therapy, and my life is all the better because of it.
Dr. Foote has somewhat alternative and holistic ideas on medicine and puts some blame on pesticides and other chemicals that we encounter in modern life. While her opinions and mine don't always mesh perfectly, she's not overbearing and simply put her thoughts out there for consideration.
Something else that I've appreciated about Dr. Foote is that while she's not in the office every day of the week, I never have to wait long to get an appointment. I am usually seen the week following my phone call and her staff is happy to work with me on scheduling. The office dog, Skye, is an added bonus.
