Well, our family has a definite shoe problem. My husband, two boys and I have way too many shoes and nowhere to put them. Most of them end up in a huge pile in front of the door that looks like an unattractive mess. One day when I could barely get the door open because of all the shoes, I decided it was time to get organized. I started searching online and eventually found what I thought would be a great solution at Drleonard;s.com. It was Dr. Leonard's 24 Pair Shoe Organizer. It looked quite durable and had a lot of space so I ordered it for the "cheap" price of $16.99 plus shipping and tax. I said cheap instead of inexpensive for a good reason.

My Experience

This organizer has a transparent PVC zip front with a corrugated frame. The dimensions are 24"W x 26"H x 11 1/2"D. When I received the shoe organizer in the mail, I was shocked when I opened the box to find cardboard. "Cheap" cardboard. It was really awful stuff. Not durable at all. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting when they said it had a "corrugated frame" but it sure wasn't this stuff. I decided to go ahead and put this puzzle together just to see if maybe it looked better in one piece. It wasn't hard to do but was pretty tedious. Once together, I still wasn't impressed. The only way that this organizer kept its shape was to keep it zipped which really wouldn't make the shoes very accessible. Each cube was big enough to fit a pair of adult shoes but I really don't think that the cardboard would hold up well it they were heavy or damp. I decided to send this organizer back to the store that I purchased it from for a refund. After explaining my disappointment, thankfully, they agreed to send me a postage paid return sticker for me to return it. I ended up finding a great product at Target that worked out perfectly for my family. It is the ClosetMaid Stackable 25 Cube Organizer.

My Final Viewpoint

Dr. Leonard's 24 Pair Shoe Organizer was quite a disappointment to me. It was neither durable nor attractive. I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" applies here. I don't recommend this organizer and I am giving it a 2 star rating.

We all have our own "viewpoints"! Maybe you should write your own review so readers can hear your point of view. Thanks for reading!

Well darling you got you paid for. So why bitch about it. If you want a damond you pay for the diamond not at the price of a cubic zirconia. You Laurie are the rediculous one. For what I paid and I have had it for years it has kept it's shape and it has been durable. So for the price I rate it pretty damn good.

You should check out the ClosetMaid 25 Cube Stackable one that I reviewed. I got it from Target and I love it!

My shoe organizer is my closet, or the floor next to the bed! Great review, sorry the product didn't turn out as you would have liked!

Organzing shoes isn't a high priority for me- I think I own about five pair. But I live with three females and they could certainly use something like this- not necessarily this one, but another shoe organizer.

Thanks for the heads up (and the thumb down)! I'm glad to know that someone else has problems with piles of stuff and getting organized. I live alone but I finally caved in and got one of those puppies that hang over the closet door on the inside made out of canvas with pockets for individual shoes. This saved me a lot of closet floor space but I don't know how it would work for a family. The ClosetMaid unit sounds great, I hope you do a review of that too!

The thought was good! Too bad it wasn't made very well! Cardboard will only last for so long :(

I'll pass on it too! (Of course I only *OWN* 2 pairs of shoes, so "organizing" isn't a high priority for me...) ;-)

I still kinda want this!

You sure did! This is really junk.

I considered this one, but then I saw a chrome one that I liked better. Sounds like I made a good decision to pass on this. :)
