I bought the Dr Brown's sippy cup because my son used the bottles. I thought with the transition from bottle to sippy cup it would be good to stick with the same brand. The bottles were great, the sippy cups not so great.
There were some good things about the cup. It works similarly to the bottles. The valve reduces excessive vacuum and hard suction. This means instead of sucking on their cup they learn to sip. I really like the handles because it made my son be able to hold it better. The spout of the cup was soft. I think this was better for him just starting to drink from a cup. The handles are removable so they can grow with your baby.
Things that I didn't like was it leaked everywhere. No matter what I would do it would just keep leaking. Another thing is one of the handles broke when my son dropped it from his highchair. That doesn't say much about the quality of the materials. I mean what child doesn't drop his sippy from his highchair? The price is on the high side at $5 or $6 for one cup. For this much you would expect better quality.
I would recommend Dr Brown's brand but definitely not these sippy cups. Save your money and go buy 2 playtex ones that are much better than these.
