Before I even gave birth to my daughter, I shopped around at all of the bottle feeding options out there. Believe me, I know, there's way too many options and can get quite overwhelming. Let me assure you that Dr. Brown's baby bottles are the ONLY bottles you will ever need for your child from infancy to toddler. What makes these bottles so unique is the insert within the bottle, which virtually eliminates excess air intake, which in turn causes painful gas for your little one. If you've ever seen or heard a baby with gas, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about -- it's painful for us to even watch.
That being said, I must warn you that cleaning these bottles is no easy task (although it actually becomes a soothing, mind-numbing activity after the babies been put down and the house is finally quiet!). You have to completely take apart the bottle, which consists of six individual pieces : bottle, tubular insert, air-catching plastic cartridge, nipple, nipple holder and cap. The tubular insert and cartridge have small nooks that require a special cleaning tool (included with each bottle) that looks like a pipe clieaner. However, after you've cleaned out each of the crevices, you can just throw all pieces into the Dr. Brown's sanitizer, fill it with water and pop it in the microwave. (the diswasher works just as well with a nipple & accessory insert.) Works great!
It may seem like a lot of work, but for the comfort of your precious little one, it's certainly worth the extra effort!
