When my son was first born my friend recommended that I purchase these bottles right away. I bought the starter kit and opened them before my son was even born. First I couldn't believe how many parts there were to one bottle. Each on has a bottle, a nipple, a filter, a storage cap and a regular cap. There also little brushes to clean them.

Every night after using these bottles I would was them by hand. I wouldn't let anyone else wash my son's bottles. I was a control freak about it. But then I started getting tired. It too much time to wash them every night. So I went against went everyone told me and I put them in the dishwasher. I put them on the top rack and they turned out fantastic. Needless to say I have yet to wash another bottle by hand.

These bottles are suggested for babies who have reflux or any type of problem with digestion. I figured between my husband and I both having terrible stomach problems, our son was bound to have some type of digestion issues. So I went straight to these bottles before trying the cheaper ones.

Yes the Dr. Brown bottles are a little more expensive than a cheapie bottle you can get at Target but it was well worth the money. Once your child has grown out of digestion issues than I would suggest changing to a cheapie bottle. But until then please continue with the Dr. Brown bottles.

Some advice about the bottles : the manufacturer will tell you that they can be used without the filter as your child gets a little older, not true. Without the filter the bottle will 100% leak. You must always use the filter. Also while traveling , use the storage caps. Take the filter out and the nipple off. Put them in a separate baggie in your diaper bag. Only travel with the storage caps on these bottles or else again they will 100% leak.

Other than that issue, these bottles are worth every penny. My son did not have any digestion problems while using these bottles. Now that my son has turned 2 I have packed them away until I need them for my next bundle of joy.

I have switched to cheapie bottles for now but I have to say they do not compare to those Dr. Brown's.
