I am a nanny and two infants had gas/collick issues. I saw an add describing these bottles and decided to try them. The babies' mother was pumping and storing the milk; breast feeding while at home. I tried the Dr. Brown's bottles and the gas/collick issues were 95% gone. The babies were swollowing too much air with the conventional bottles and these bottles have a vent system built in. The bottles have a two piece insert that controls and vents the air. I would sugget that you immediately hand wash the bottles after each use and get in the habit of doing this. That way you will not have a 'hassle' every time you wash and sterilize the bottles. The extra minute it takes to wash these properly is worth it when you consider the gas pains and tears of an infant. I wish these had been around when my babies were infants. Many kudos to the inventor!!! One suggestion; transport fluid in another bottle and fill when ready to use as with the air flow vent; formula can leak. Another little habit to get into. I freeze the breast formula in a separate bottle and leave in the other bottle until ready to feed so this is not 'bother' for me.
