When a new product comes out I try to review it and decide if I should incorporate it into my program. This bottle fell to the bottom of my list quite quickly. I have tried it with 7 babies so far. Aged 6 weeks to 13 months. None showed less gas, spitting up, or fussiness than when fed with a standard bottle with brown natural nipple. It was also a pain to assemble and clean. When I put the liquid in, then the powder, and stuck in the straw, it seems like the powder would always get in the straw, that was a pain. A lot of people think the babies swallow air when it comes into the bottle through the hole the baby is trying to eat out of. What they do not realize is that the air comes from between the collar and rim of the bottle. The tighter you screw on the collar, the harder the baby has to suck to get it out. They make nipples with vents for that reason. If your baby's bottle is sucking air through the hole intended for allowing the milkk to come out, it is on too tight, loosen the collar and allow the vents to work properly. My advice, skip the Dr Browns bottles, use that exra money for a cuddly blanket and sit and rock your baby all afternoon.
