I was devastated when I found out I wouldn't be able to nurse my son 2 years ago. I wanted him to have the best, and that meant a great bottle as well as the best formula I could buy.
Dr. Brown's bottles fit the bill!
They are a little pricey but I haven't had to replace a single thing due to wear (only to losing or destroying pieces out of carelessness.) Unfortunately, I haven't found them at either of the grocery stores I patronize, but I have found them at Babies R Us, WalGreens, and online. The best onlines prices I've found are at Kidsurplus.com. Replacing a vent or nipple here or there isn't too expensive.
The vents and reservoirs really keep air from getting into the nipple and after we started using Dr. Brown's, we never had problems with gassiness. Even burping was quick and easy, if there was anything to burp up. It doesn't take long to put all the pieces together -- easier than those bottles with the plastic baggies inside! -- and they're not hard to clean if you do it before they get gross. The special little brush that comes with the bottles gets into every spot without fuss.
My baby sister is going to have her first baby in January and I'll be giving her my son's bottles. They're the best for the babies I love, and they definitely still up for another baby's worth of abuse! I recommend them highly for the babies in your life, too.
