I love this soap!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Seriously, the title says almost all. I love this soap. It smells amazing and it cleans nearly everything. It cuts grease and scum really well. In fact, I use it to clean my oven (the top, under the burners) and my bathroom too. I also use it in my little scrubber to hand-clean dishes. It really gets rid of grease on dishes and in the kitchen, with only a little scrubbing--not too much effort. Plus, it's environmentally friendly and I don't feel so guilty washing a lot of it down the sink in the water. I've heard that it's good also for personal cleaning, in the shower and so forth, but I have not tried it. I use it all up in the kitchen and bathroom! It foams up really nicely so you feel like you're really getting clean even if you don't use very much, which is good because the one downside is that it's rather expensive. Still, worth it!

Dr. Bronner's for everything!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I grew up with this always in the house. It wasn't until I was older that I realizes how much Dr. Bronner's can do. While other people in my family use it for shampoo I tend to only use it for hand and body soap or for baths. It has a great tingling effect that I especially love in the hot summer months. I also use it occationally to clean our dog when he takes a bath or to just clean off his legs and feet. Other then cleaning people I use it on outside furniture and sometime indoors to change it up a bit. After all it does have a nice scent, I especially love the almond scented Dr. Bronner's. I've heard people who use it as a bug repellent and other natural uses. It's nice to find an organic product that works so well and has stood the test of time.

Love Dr.Bronner's!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My husband and I decided to try Dr.Bronner's on a whim a little less than a year ago when we made the choice to start buying more natural products and to start trying to pay attention to the ingredients in things we bought and where things came from. We really had no idea what castile soap was or how to use it. Peppermint was our first purchase. We actually found this at our local Target. What a fresh clean fragrance! You can't get anymore natural smelling! Well, unless you get another Dr.Bronner's scent! Castile soap is really unique. We use it a lot in our hand soap pumps. We learned that it works really well in the ones that foam. You mix 3/4 water with 1/4 Dr.Bronner's and you ...

Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile soap-best I have ever used!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I started using Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap in peppermint a couple months ago and hands down, this is my favorite soap! I love that there are so many uses for this soap, that go way beyond just washing your hands. The company says you can use it for 18 different things but I've found more than that, and I'm still counting.

Dr. Bronners is all natural and organic. It is also certified fair trade. Its readily available at grocery and health food stores. You can also find it online easily.

The key is to dilute this liquid soap. A little goes a long way! I use it in foaming hand soap dispensers at my kitchen and bathroom sinks. I use one fourth soap to three fourths water, per dispenser....

Look no further..this is the one product that does it all

Overall

You really can't go wrong with the Dr.Bronners line of products. From their soaps to their lotions I've never been disappointed. The Peppermint Castile Soap is gentle yet effective on my skin.It cleanses well yet is not overdrying.I especially love the smell and sensation I get when using this product. The natural peppermint oils are a real eye opener in the morning and really do alot to wake me up and get my day started. This product also works fabulous for cold sufferers and does wonders in clearing the nasal passages. Not only do I like the quality of the product I also am a big supporter of natural, organic and earth friendly products. The fact that this company has been around as long as it has really speaks volumes as well.In short I would recommend this product for it's superior quality,earth/animal friendly practices and the fact that it for the price you really don't need any other additional products.

not for sensitive skin!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I am so disappointed by this product. I bought it because of the natural factor - I do NOT want SLS in my hair or my kids' hair. I bought this thinking it would be great for the kids as well as me - for our bodies and our hair. Well, the first time the boys had it in the tub, it left red welt-looking rashes on their skin! Next time, I used it only on their hair and it left the same thing around their foreheads. So no more for them!

I have been using it myself, and only on my hair, as I got welt-like rashes on my skin as well. At first it seemed to be working well, but now my hair is dry, brittle and extremely ratty! I can't even get a brush through it. I am using the rest of what I have (more than half a bottle) in laundry, as I can't see wasting it considering how much it cost!

I will not be buying Dr Bronner's again, unless it works well for laundering. I'm extremely disappointed and hope that my hair can be saved.

Despite changes in formula over the years still one of the best

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Long before organic, green, and environmental consciousness were the marketing buzz words, my family was running our household with as few damaging chemicals as possible. One of the products that we started using back then was Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castile Liquid Soap.

Dr Bronner's Peppermint Castile Liquid Soap has always come in various sizes from 2 oz to 1 gallon containers. This soap has changed over the years so if you have used it a long time ago, it might not be what you expected now. That can be good or bad depending on what you are expecting.

Dr Bronner's Peppermint Castile Liquid Soap is a very light amber colored liquid which is runnier than it used to be. The ingredients ar...

Clean, fresh scent

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I've tried Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap a few times now. It's an effective cleaner, overall. The scent is fresh and minty. It doesn't have that added-fragrance feel of a lot of soaps. I use it as a body wash, but it seems like it would have a lot of applications.

The consistency surprised me when it came out of the bottle. It was a liquid, very thin like water, not a thick gel like most body wash. It didn't foam as much as I like, and I had to reapply, but it did leave me feeling particularly clean.

This stuff's expensive, though. I'm not sure I would buy it again under normal circumstances unless I started using it as more of a multipurpose cleaner/soap. It might be nic...

Take a cooling and tingly shower!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love to try different skin care products.  When I read about a product that had 18 different uses, I knew I had to check it out.  I ordered a 4 fluid ounce bottle and decided to take Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap for an extensive test drive!

This product is a transparent, yellowish liquid that resembles olive oil.  It contains coconut oil, olive oil, hemp oil, jojoba oil, and peppermint oil, among other things.  The fragrance really seems to be just peppermint which is very pleasant and refreshing.

The manufacturer claims that there are more than 18 uses for Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap but they just can't fit them all on the label.  (The label is over crow...

Economical and VERY environmentally friendly

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I don't use the Peppermint Dr Bronners.  Personally I use the Baby (unscented) for bath and body, and the Tea Tree for dishes and other cleaning.  I love this stuff.  At first I didn't, because I was using WAY too much.  I now use a ratio of no more than 1 of soap to 4 of water.  We use a foaming dispenser now which makes it so we can use even less soap to water and still get the benefits of the soap.  What takes getting used to is that it really is soap and not detergent, which is what almost all commercial "soap" actually is - including shampoos.  We use it on our skin in the shower and hands at the sink.  It's amazing for my face.  We haven't...

A great way to go green for skin care needs.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Dr. Bronner's liquid soaps have been a mainstay in natural food and health food stores, with good reason. It's a true soap rather than a mix of synthetics that make foam and strip one's skin of all natural oils, making it a much gentler choice for any skin type. The peppermint is especially fun. I've always loved the tingle of peppermint essential oil, and Dr. Bronner's is perfectly touched with the organic essence. Not only is it a very kind Good Morning to yourself, but it's great anytime you need reviving as well as a shower. Aromatherapists often use peppermint essential oil as a refreshing scent, finding that it's a great pick-me-up at all times of the day. Peppermint is also slightly as...

Natural Product With Many Uses

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My wife and I share our home with many four-footed furry critters.........dogs and cats. Fleas can be a problem and addressing that problem with the use of toxic chemicals is not an option for us. The use of these chemicals can later create severe to deadly health problems for our pets. If you feel the same way as we do, but need an effective way to rid your pets of fleas, then please try Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castile Soap. We use the liquid form to bathe our pets. This natural product generates sufficient suds to cover your pet. The secret of the flea control is that fleas CANNOT tolerate peppermint oil. As you rinse your pet, you will see dead and dying fleas wash down the drain. It is amazing how fast the peppermint oil works. Once your pet is dry, the lingering scent will help discourage fleas from jumping on board. Be sure that this soap is mild and will not be harmful for you beloved pet.

A blast of winter freshness in a bottle

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Ah, good 'ol Dr. Bronner. If you have never been introduced to his products, the Peppermint Liquid Soap would be a good place to start. First, if you're concerned about your health and the environment, you're gonna love this product as all oils and essential oils used are certified organic. The plastic bottle used is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastics. Aside from that, when possible the rest of the ingredients are bought through fair trade. According to Dr. Bronner's website, peppermint oil is a mild stimulant so expect it to revitalize your mind and awaken your senses. (I know a good shower with this soap has helped get me going on many sleepy mornings!)It comes in a...

Versatile, non-toxic and very effective.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I've used Dr. Bronner's liquid soap for a long time. Initially, I had bought two 32 ounce bottles of the soap (one in peppermint and the other in almond). They have dozens of uses and in addition to that, it's a good value per ounce. Both of those bottles lasted me about a year and a half because I didn't need to use a lot when I was cleaning. Usually a capful works to do the job. I only use if for cleaning, not for skin care or for a shampoo because I have sensitive skin and dry hair and it could be a little harsh on my sensitive skin. When I used it as a face wash, it made my face feel really tight and my hair was really dry. I don't know if it was because I used too much of it, but t...

Magic pick me up for your morning shower? Peppermint! All one!!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Dr. Bronner's soap is amazing! I first used it about 10 years ago, and recently rediscovered it. The big bottle is a concentrated formula that you dillute with water to make it go a very long way. It has peppermint oil that makes your whole body tingle and cool, and your lungs feel as if they've opened up.

I like to use it in the morning to help pick me up if I'm tired, or even if not. It is also great to use because it is fair trade (promotes sustainability & not just out to make money), made of vegan ingredients, and in a post-recycled bottle that is able to be recycled again. All of Bronner's liquid soaps have a castile soap base which is derived from plant sources versus animal, arguabl...

Overall

I'm so happy to review this product!  Dr. Bronners Peppermint liquid soap is a lifesaver!  I discovered it a few years ago & keep finding new &exciting things to clean with it.  I think peppermint is the most popular scent, as it is usually what you see in stores.  Even trader joes carries it.  They use certifies organic oils in the soaps too!  This is one REALLY minty soap!  If used in the shower, it leaves you super cool & tingly!  It can be used as toothpaste as well, although i prefer traditional toothpaste better, but it is great for travel or camping since it can be used for face, body , hair, teeth, dish-washing, clothes-washing, floor clea...

Organic, versatile--- We consider it a staple in our home

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My husband first turned me on to Dr. Bronner's products about 5 years ago. I have tried and really liked the peppermint, almond, tea tree, and lavender but have found the peppermint to be the most useful. We keep this in stock at our home year round and use it for many things. It is a terrifc eye opener for your morning shower. The minty scent is very refreshing and invigorating.  My favorite use is for getting out stains from the carpet. We have three cats in the house and on rare occasion (if we neglect to clean the litter box in a timely manner) show their displeasure by doing their business outside the litter box. Dr. Bronner's peppermint had ALWAYS gotten up the stain and smel...

Dr. Bronner's is a great go-to soap!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Dr. Bronner's soap is a hippie classic. It boasts multiple uses (which may be important to some people) and has a lot of interesting text on the bottle. I like it because it's a solid, natural, go-to soap in a pleasing scent. It's excellent value because it is very concentrated. Its instructions recommend diluting it up to 40:1, but it can also be used full strength for hand or body washing (though certainly, it works well diluted for these purposes as well).

The peppermint soap is refreshing and tingly and has a pleasing scent. One caution: the essential oils in the soap can feel quite strong on cuts or sensitive areas. In such cases, it is adviseable to opt for the unscented variety of Dr. Bronner's soap over the others.

I can't speak to the other uses of the soap personally, but I have heard mixed reviews of them. However, as a basic purpose soap, it works great. And it's organic and natural, which is excellent.

A great all purpose soap!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Liquid Soap is a great product that does at least a decent job of multiple uses. I prefer to add some to another container and mix it with water before using as it really is quite concentrated, making it super affordable to use. Obviously, it is great as a body wash, but you can use it so many other ways! I've used it as a facial wash, and I found that it got my skin very clean without feeling stripped or dry. I've also used it as a shampoo, and while I do prefer actual shampoo, it did get the job done. It can also be used as a laundry detergent, which I've found helpful on the occasions that I've run out. The label states that it is safe and effective as a toothpa...

Tingles all over your body

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Peace & LoveAn icon of the '60s and '70s, Dr. Bronner embraced an "all-one" philosophy of peace and love. His products are all-natural, organic, ecologically friendly and promote Fair Trade and sustainability.

Dr. Bronner's Tingles All Over !Dr. Bronner's pure castile peppermint soap is highly concentrated. You can buy it by the bottle, or by the gallon, at local health food stores. A shower with this soap will not be forgotten. There are some places on your body which, when exposed to Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap, will cause a reaction in your eyebrows, as they suddenly shoot skyward. (How's that for a tease?) This stuff is tingly, and cold, and fabulous! The comp...

Great soap

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This soap is wonderful.  I discovered it about a year ago at Trader Joe's.  The big bottle of Peppermint Dr. Bronner's is about $9 at Trader Joe's and that is a very good price.  Whole Foods Market also has the big bottles of Peppermint on sale for this price sometimes.  The soap is biodegradable and the bottle is made with post consumer recycled plastic, it is truly friendly to our environment.  The smell is wonderful as well, and the soap has so many uses.  You can use this for dishes, laundry, washing your hair, washing your body, and anything else you can think of that requires soap.  THis is pure castile soap, however, so it does tend to dry out your skin if you use it too much.  One of the great uses for this product is mixing it in a little warm water and soaking a rag in the water and then putting the rag over your face and relaxing, breathing in the peppermint.  It is truly a great experience.  I would definitely recommend this to my friends.

Dr. Bronner's smells fresh and works wonderfully.

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Okay, so the guy who makes these soaps is certifiably insane.  All you have to do is actually read the label to know that.  BUT, while he may not be particularly trustworthy in the areas of theology and philosophy, he is a genius when it comes to soap.  When my son was born, we used Dr. Bronner's unscented baby soap for his baths.  He loved it.  And while TV adds would have you slathering chemical-laden gunge onto your child, I'd rather be certain that whatever I rub into my baby's skin is pure, natural, and safe.  With Dr. Bronner's, I have no worries.  My husband and I both use it to shower all the time, and if your hair is coarse, it even doubles as a great shampoo.  I wouldn't recommend it for fine hair types, as it can dry your hair.

The best thing about the soap is the smell, and the wonderful tingly-clean feeling you get when you wash with the peppermint soap.  Nothing else even comes close!

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castile soap smells great!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I first bought this for my husband because he likes to soak in a sudsy bath after a long, smelly day at work.  He was using chemical-laden body soaps in his bathwater and I just couldn't stand the fact that he was, essentially, taking a long, chemical soak.  Yikes!  I was familiar with the Dr. Bronner brand and saw a bottle of the peppermint at my mother-in-laws house.  I asked how she liked it and she said she loved it.  So, I bought a bottle for hubby.  He likes it.  It smells great and is gentle on the skin and has organic ingredients that I can feel good about.  I think it is too expensive.  I think we paid about $14 for a bottle.  I am n...

Dr. Bronner's is the best!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I was introduced to this soap by my mother-in-law who swore it was the best soap there is. After just a couple uses, I totally agree! There is nothing like starting your day with the invigorating feeling of peppermint soap in your shower.

Pros

  • Leaves a fresh tingly feeling on your skin. You really feel clean after using Dr. Bronner's and this feeling lasts. It does not dry out your skin like some soaps.

  • This soap is so versitile! I have never even read all of the uses listed on th Ite bottle, but there are so many possibilities. You can wash your hair, skin, clothes, teeth and the list goes on and on. I personally just use this for my skin though and can't say how effective it is otherwise.

  • The bottle lasts forever! A little goes a long way so it is pretty good value.

Cons

  • I honestly don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Bronner's. Absolutely the best soap there is, a must-have in our house!

Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap, my favorite!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I use this for everything. Literally. I put a little on a warm, moist wash cloth and massage it into my scalp, it feels so wonderful! It's a pretty heavy-duty soap, so it cuts down dirt and grime like no tomorrow, but if you don't dillute it, it can be a bit harsh on your skin and dry you out. But if you use it like it's recommended, then it will last a long long long time and still be healthy for you, your skin, and the world. I really like it because it's vegan, organic and not tested on animals. That is important to me. It's also fun to read the bottle when you are in the shower. The smell is amazing, and can be used as aromatherapy. Peppermint is used to stimulate and revive, but it's also a stomach relaxer. The soap tingles and cools, and gives you a real clean feeling. I don't use it often on my hair, but sometimes I use it as a shampoo, it helps to cut down dandruff. It's great becuase it can also travel with you.

The best soap on the market!

Overall

I absolutely love Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap.  Peppermint has to be the best scent of all of the line of Dr. Bronner soaps.  I use Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap to wash my face at night to clear all the make up off.  Two drops of this soap rubbed in my hands makes a great lather and removes all dirt.  The peppermint oil refreshes my skin and makes me feel very clean.  I love the ingredients in this product.  Basic coconut oil, jojoba oil, peppermint oil and a few other natural products. You won't find anything much more natural than Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap.  Put this soap by your toiliet for a good read too...

This Dr Bronner's Peppermint Soap can do just about anything

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

There are a lot of words to describe my beauty routine: virtually non-existent, all natural, environmentally aware are all at the top of that list.  I never put anything on my body that could cause me to have an allergic reaction or other adverse effect and I do my very, very best never to use any products that have been tested on animals. Dr Bronner's fulfills all of these requirements.

I have been using Dr Bronner's peppermint soap since I was in junior high and started becoming very interested in the fate of our world and our affect on it through every day actions like showering or face washing.  I ran across Dr Bronner's when getting supplies together for a camping trip and wa...

A very versatile soap!

Overall

Ok, i know that just about every review for Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap has said nothing negative at all about it, and while I like this product and will purchase it again, I have to admit, it's a very different experience using this in compassison to soaps.  Using it in the shower, I only need about a drop in my hands to cover my face.  DO NOT squeeze the bottle, it will just drop out on its own.  My face has cleared up and the skin actually feels tighter and feels clean all day after using this.  Be sure that your face is thoroughly wet first because the wetness will dilute the soap, which is the advice from the bottle.  As for body wash, it is pretty much th...
