When I think Downy (besides Simple Pleasures) I think classic clean laundry goodness. These are the type of laundry scents you grew up with. April Fresh and Clean Breeze are clean, sweet, "fresh linen" type scents that bring me back to a simpler time before we were bombarded with so many wild options. Performance Downy sheets are nice and thick, don't stick together, and work great. They're classic, hard working, fresh smelling dryer sheets. You can't go wrong with these.

Okay, so Downy has been around for years and years and is still putting out a quality product. I like dryer sheets better than liquid softeners because they are easier to use and you can't use too much. This one smells very nice and the scent lasts a while on your clothes. They are great for keeping your clothes from coming out of the dryer a wrinkled mess and they help reduce static cling when it gets cold out. This one has a very nice smell. They are a bit more pricey than some others but worth the price. They come in a selection of scents all nice. This one happens to be my favorite. You can use these for other things than just throwing in the dryer. Layer one or two between your bath towels or sheets so they always have the nice Downy soft smell. I stick one in my luggage as well. They are efficient and do the job nicely. They could be a little less expensive however and that is the only downfall I find.

My washing machine does not have a dispenser for liquid fabric softeners, so I always buy the dryer sheet versions. I am not sold on any particular brand, and the sales and values often determine which brands I will purchase. I am just finishing up a box of 120 Downy April Fresh Dryer Sheets, and I can honestly say this is not a product I would purchase again. The sheets look like most of the others on the market, they measure 6.4" by 9" and have a smell almost like the scent of baby powder. It's a light scent that is not overpowering. These don't leave my clothes as soft as I would like, and the scent doesn't linger on our clothes at all. I do notice the scent on our newly washed sheets the night I put the new sheets on the bed, but after that the scent fades and it hardly noticeable. I've kept the lid to the box closed in between uses, but the remaining 20 or so dryer sheets have virtually no scent left in them. Not enough scent, and not enough added softness, but they do help remove static cling. That isn't enough to keep me coming back. Performance Control static, but the scent isn't strong enough and they don't leave my clothes feeling as soft as I expected them to. Scent Okay when the box was first opened, but it fades too fast and I can't even smell the scent in the remaining 20 sheets left in my box.

For the longest time I've used bounce. Doing laundry with family, I tried Downy fabric softener sheets and have come to love the smell. It's no wonder that this product has perfect 5 stars by everyone! The scent can be too strong, but I can't tell if that is from the detergent too (I use cheer, tide, method). However, using one sheet instead of two or three could also be the difference maker. For me, I've found that the clothes feel fresh and clean. They also come out incredibly soft. And there use to be static when I did laundry before but there's no static now. A lot of people favor the downy liquid softener but I have always been one to use dryer sheets so this is all I know. From all the brands I've tried I like this best!

I've used downy for years like the april fresh scent the best. but lately, the fragrance has gotten a little too strong for me - i don't know if they've changed the formula or if i've grown more sensitive. regardless it is very potent, which means use the sheets sparingly or you'll be sneezing/getting a headache every time you wear the washed clothes. other than the smell is the effectiveness question. certainly the dryer sheets remove static very efficiently. just two sheets for a whole load is plenty to take care of static. however, when you touch those clothes afterwards, your hands are left with this strange waxy, soapy feeling: something that coats all the clothes. i don't know what that is or how safe it is to have it on all your clothes. the fact that it rubs off onto my hands when folding the laundry tells me it also rubs off onto my skin when i wear the clothing.

Let's face it Moms, no one likes laundry day. The relentless folding, putting away, and switching of laundry from washer to dryer. The only and I do mean, only, thing I look forward to on laundry day is pulling out my freshly laundred towels from the dryer and smelling my Downy fabric sheets. Downy fabric sheets leave my clothes and towels feeling soft and smelling great. Not just on laundry day but for days that follow as well. It seems like the Downy scent lasts a lot longer compared to most other brands of fabric softener sheets. And the scent isn't overpowering, it is soft and subtle. I love that you can purchase scents to match your detergent. The great thing about Downy sheets are how versatile they are. I use mine for so much more than laundry. I stick one in each of my children's closets to keep them smelling fresh. I also put on under the seat in each of our cars. We keep one in our gym bags as well.  Awesome product!

Every load of laundry I do I have to use Downy Fabric Softener Sheets otherwise clothes just don't feel/smell like they do when I use the dryer sheets. My family has sensetive skin so i thought I was doomed to non scented dryer sheets however I have been using Downy dryer sheets since my daughter was bornand she nor my husband has broke out once. They make your clothes and sheets smell amazing. Out of the dryer smell all month long.

I recieved a sample of Downy sheets. I knew it would be good but just not this good. My sheets felt so clean and smelt so good. I went to sleep smelling my pillow nd rubbing my feet on the shees. It was so comfortable. I dont ever want to ues anything else when I wash  the sheets. I really cant wait to get into bed.(sile)

I have tried generic before - who doesn't love to save money.  However, they just don't work as well as the original Downy dryer sheets.  Sometimes saving money just doesn't pay.  The Downy brand is the best at avoiding static cling.  They have amazing scents, that make the clothes smell wonderful!  The scent lasts quite a long time, and seems to keep some odors from clinging to the clothes during the day.  The clothes feel softer, more supple.  The sheets from the Downy brand are sturdy.  They don't stick to one garment in the dryer, but rather move around to help all clothes.  They don't break apart, and are perfect for cleaning the lint trap after drying is complete!  The last time I purchased Downy, I tried the Sweet Almond scent from their Simple Pleasures line.  It was ok, but I miss the original.  The original scent is a bit stronger after drying, and pleases more people in the family.  A simple dryer sheet is really a wonderful inexpensive luxury for the entire family.  If I can't afford all the things in life that I really want, at least I can spend a few bucks every few months for the good of the whole family.
