Disneyland in Anaheim, California was not our destination. We were staying in Anaheim for a conference and was able to take a $3 shuttle ride to Downtown Disney. It's free to enter this area, which is located between Disneyland and California Adventure parks.

I just don't get it. Why does ANYBODY really beat the drum over Downtown Disney?

Seems to me like the experience of the place leaves a lot to be desired, and it's a poor substitute for a genuinely lively urban nightlife scene. Go to Downtown Disney and check it out for yourself, but do it with eyes open.... read full review »

Everything I read before going to Disneyland said that the perfect age was seven years old. Well, we have 1, 2 & 3 year old boys and I am so glad that I did not listen to the reviews and wait until they were older. I love that almost everything in Disneyland was family friendly. We could sit with our one year old on our lap so that he was still able to be with us, even if he did not understand what was going on. As for our 2 & 3 year olds, they loved it. Meeting the characters was a huge highlight for them. I have never seen their faces light up as much as when we were meeting Pooh...

I enjoy visiting Downtown Disney at Disneyland because there's a lot to see, do, shop & eat. Just be sure to take your wallet! First, if you are a die-hard Disney fan, there's no better place to shop than the World of Disney. The shop has a great array of Disney merchandise for fans of all ages. For a more hip, edgy Disney fan, try the Vault 28 store which is just a few shops down. They carry Disney Couture items as well as designer things - it's still Disney but with a decidedly modern look.
