Normally, I have no loyalty to any one brand...I base my purchases on price, whether they're environmentally friendly, the way the packing looks, the music used in the commercial, sparkles, whatever! I'm an advertiser's dream! But after using Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo for Accumulated Damage, I won't be switching to another shampoo any time soon!
First of all, before purchasing any Dove products, get onto their website (dove.com) and sign up for coupons. I got a dollar off coupon for any hair care product, so my family-sized 25.4 oz. bottle that typically runs $5.00 at Walmart only cost $4.00. The regular 16 oz. size costs around $3.50...very reasonable for a name-brand product.
Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo for Accumulated Damage claims to serves two purposes: first, it removes buildup from styling products, and second, it repairs damaged hair. Does it deliver on both these promises? Absolutely! My hair feels stronger and healthier. Some shampoos leave your hair feeling hard after you rinse, but Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo for Accumulated Damage leaves your hair feeling like silk as your rinse it out. You almost don't need a conditioner! After several days' worth of use, combined with the conditioner, my hair showed improvements in how it handled heat-styling. I have actually been able to extend the time between haircuts, because my hair doesn't break and split like it did when using any other shampoo. So not only am I getting a great shampoo for a low cost, but I'm saving money at the salon as well! It smells great, lathers up beautifully, and easily rinses clean.
Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo for Accumulated Damage is not an organic product, and there are ingredients in the shampoo that are considered to be a concern (see skindeep.com for detailed concerns related to the ingredients). So if you have significant concerns about things ilke sulfates and various unpronounceable words, you may not like the score on Dove Intense Damage Therapy Shampoo for Accumulated Damage: it rated a 5 out of 10 on the Skin Deep hazard score.
While I always wish great products that aren't organic or natural were healthier, I have to admit, this product will stay on my "must have" list. This shampoo takes such good care of my hair and I love how it feels after using the products. I will stay a loyal Dove customer from here on out!
