I bought this hairspray because I like the scent of Dove products and I like to use a pump rather than an aerosol hairspray. I was looking for an extra hold spray to spray at my roots to give my hair volume and bounce. This product is not an extra hold spray at all. It doesn't even keep hair in place at all. I felt like I was spraying water on my hair. It did nothing to help with volume or hold. This product does smell good just like all Dove products that I have used, but that is the only thing that I liked. I would expect products that are advertised as being extra hold, to be just that, but this product really doesn't hold hair in place at all. I was disappointed in this product and the Dove brand. It is not the cheapest hairspray on the market, so it is frustrating when it doesn't work well. I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for a hairspray, this does not act as one in my opinion.

This hairspray doesn't do SMACK unless make your hair smell good. Seriously, it doesn't work AT ALL. I've tried in the past to make it work. I seriously wanted it to work and it doesn't matter if I spritz just a section or glob on the whole container: it doesn't work at all for me! The hold is practically non-existent. I don't feel the grib that most hairsprays have. I've used much better alternatives (especially ones without animal testing!).I won't ever consider purchasing this ever again. My guilt gets the best of me, but it's also a waste of money to buy something that doesn't even work. My mother, however, doesn't think of the product as bad. She seemed content with it, but for me.. not so much. Something to include: I'm african american, my natural hair is about a 4a/4c texture. I've used this hairspray when I curl my hair. I have thin hair, and although course, given my ethnicity, I'm not full black. I can tell that thick hair would not possibly work with Dove.

The dove extra hold hairspray really keeps your style in place. I do not really like the sprayer, I prefer an aerosol, but it works fine. A little bit goes a long way with this hairspray, or you'll end up with crunchy hair. It works better on curled hair rather than straight hair.

I have very curly hair, so that means when the wind blows slightly I get frizzies and a halo around my head. I also use products in my hair every day and I am very willing to try new products that are less harsh on my scalp, I received this product as a sample in the mail so I decided why not I will give it a try. So i did my normal routine of showering and fixing my hair before work and letting it air dry for about 45 minutes before I leave. Before leaving I sprayed my hair one more time just for extra hold (just in case I did not spray enough the first time.) It seemed to be working the first hour I was at work and I was very happy with the results. Well i had so many frizzies by with in two hours of work I felt like I could fly home. I would recommend this product to some one who does not use much product in there hair, and not to someone who has very curly hair this product would not work for them.

Dove Extra Hold Hairspray is my favorite hairspray product. I love that it has the classic dove scent like their soap and shampoo provide. It is clean, fresh, and truly keeps your hair in place. It is easy to control where you are spraying because it comes in a plastic pump-action spray bottle. I have tried many types of hairspray over the years. I have very thick hair and it is hard to find a hairspray that will hold my hair in place for up-dos or curly hair days. This product holds my hair in place and has a nice smell. Others I have tried are very potent and you can still smell the bad smell hours later. Or they don't hold the curls and I end up with frizzy hair. This hair spray smells like the classic DOVE scent and doesn't bother my nose or my partner. It is also reasonably priced and can be found at Walmart. Dove frequently will offer coupons for it in the paper and you can get it for an even better deal.

While it's a little sticky to the touch (which I suppose is good for hairspray even if I don't love how it feels on my fingers), the hairspray is almost always effective. It can hold my hair together even when the humidity is at 100%, which says a lot, I think! I've tried many products and this is one of the best, hands down!

I've been using Dove Extra Hold Hairspray for a while and can't imagine switching to another brand. In the first place, it is a bargain price. That's the reason that I tried it in the first place. I also like the fact that it comes in a non aerosol bottle. The bottle is easy to hold in your hand and spray. I've never had a problem with the spray nozzle clogging or breaking, unlike other brands that I tried in the past. But the best part is that Dove Extra Hold Hairspray just works great! It is lightweight, you hair isn't sticky or clumpy or heavy. The hairspray is light, yet gives a great hold. A bonus of the Dove Extra Hold Hairspray is that it smells nice. So many hairsprays smell bad or smell really strong, but the smell of the Dove is very pleasant.

Let me start out by saying I don't use hairspray for myself. However, I do use hairspray every day to secure my daughter's piggy tails. She has baby fine hair, so I really need a hairspray with some serious hold! And Dove Extra Hold Hairspray is just okay. I mean, it's not terrible, but it's not fantastic either. Sorry, that's the best I can say for it. It holds okay for a few hours, but pretty soon, her little piggy tails are slipping out and falling down. Maybe it works better in different situations, or with more adult hair, but it doesn't work out quite as well for her. However, all of that being said, I will say that I LOVE the smell. It is by far the best smelling hair spray I've ever used.

I purchased Dove Extra Hold Hairspray because I love the smell of Dova products and I needed hairspray with an extra hold! I am very happy that my favorite smell was there and the hold was amazing on my hair. My hair does not hold well with curls but with the extra hold hairspray it held all night long! Also, I do not like when hairspray makes curls look wet or that they do not move... that was not the case with Dove, which allowed flexibility in my hair! I did find that this hairspray is expensive and I would tend to by store brands just because they are cheaper... but after buying the Dove Extra Hold I will not use any other hairspray and I will look when it is on sale or if I have a coupon! I wear my hair all the time in curls now because I found a hairspray that works! Also, the day after my hair does not have white flakes everywhere! I hate that other hairsprays do that and happy to see Dove Extra Hold Hairspray does not!!

Dove Extra Hold hairspray does help with stray flyaway hairs, but I don't know if I would call it "extra strength".  I use mine every morning after I dry my hair to smooth down the overall texture.  Too much of this hairspray does the ol' "crunchy/greasy hair" look that most hairsprays do, but a little bit of this goes a long way.  I tend to spray it on my hands and run it over my hair to smooth it down.  After being outside for a while, though, it almost seems like the hairspray wasn't in there at all.  I would call this maybe 'regular hold' hairspray at best. Another strange thing I have noticed it that while the hairspray smells nice, when I apply it to my hair when it is still wet, it makes my hair smell like a wet dog!  Pretty gross.  I'm not sure if it is the combination of my shampoo or conditioner and the hairspray or just the hairspray itself, but it never smells like that if I don't use the hairspray.
