It seemed like a good idea when I was at Wal-Mart, so I grabbed a bag of the display Doritos Collisions - hot wings and blue cheese.
For some reason I can't explain I thought the bag would be divided. How I thought they'd do that, I don't know.
Trust me. Collisions are two types of Doritos chips dumped in one big bag. This is not a good thing for a person who does not like her food to touch much. It may all go the same place, but I like to shovel it down one flavor at a time.
I did try these. I would get a chip off and shake it to try to get off any flavor from the other chips married up in this bag.
The blue cheese are yellow while the hot wings have red coating. Well, they all get kind of coated, but it's easy enough to identify the two flavors.
Blue cheese has kind of a rich cheese flavor. It's kind of like the nacho - sort of heavy as far as the taste.
Hot wings don't taste too hot to start with. Then your mouth gets hotter as you sit there. I like hot food, so that was fine.
I kind of doubt I'd buy either flavor individually. I sure wouldn't buy them mixed together and then sit there shaking my chips with my persnickedy self.
The boys flat would not touch these. They'll eat cheese flavored chips or hot flavored chips. They just did not like this combined idea at all, so these were going begging. Someone liked them though, because I sprung them out (unopened - of course) for a party. About 3/4 of the bag was gone after that, and then I've had some of the leftover chips. There are some more in there, but the ones at the bottom are more jumbled up, so I think I will feed the birds. I don't know how they'll like that hot wing flavor though.
