I bought one of these Walmart toddler beds three years ago when my oldest son was still a toddler. I was originally excited to have a little "wood" bed for him rather than a cheap plastic one. Instead, I found that, because he like to jump on the bed and climb over the guard rails, he snapped a guard rail, a wood slat broke, and eventually the entire bottom corner broke.
The bed advertised that it could hold up to 50 lbs., and he was only 25-30 lbs when this happened, and even though some would say he shouldn't have been jumping/ climbing on the bed, that's what toddlers do, and we can't stare at them waiting until they wake or fall asleep every night. I expected something that was MADE for a toddler. It wasn't.
I admit, it was pretty before it broke, though it wasn't real wood but that wood-looking surface they put on top to make it look fancy, and even that got very scratched up. For my later son, I went with something more pricey but a lot cooler (an airplane bed made of REAL wood), and it's held up to even my oldest son jumping on it. Quality DOES cost a bit more, but had I gotten the airplane bed for my first boy, I would never have had to buy another bed!
