Better than the more expensive ones...

We shopped for a crib for months. We didn't want to spend a lot of many but we wanted the best for our baby. We finally put this crib on our baby registration list and got it at our baby-shower from really close friends. We assembled the crib the minute we got it, it only took 10 minutes or so. But unfortunately we had to move out before the baby's birth so we dissembled the crib and assembled it again. It was very easy to do that. The material used for the crib is really good. First of all it has a metal mattress rail that many expensive models don't have. My 14 months old daughter likes to jump on her mattress and I don't have to worry about her breaking the mattress rest. Lowering the drop gate needs some practice but after you got it(and you'll get it after the first five tries), it's just one hand job. But a baby or even a small child can't do it. So there is no safety concerns there. It comes with the wooden support that you'll need it when it's time for your baby to sleep in a big kids bed. But it doesn't have a bed rail which is not a big problem because you can buy a portable one for $20(which you are going to buy anyway if you travel with your baby). It has enough room underneath that you can put the extra diapers, wipes or you can buy an inexpensive under-bed plastic bin and store what ever you want under the crib.

My nephew fell out of his when the clip let go on the side panel that slides down. The clips are made of cheap plastic. We've notified the store we bought it from, and the CPSC about it.
