Dorel Brand 3-in-1 Sleigh Crib —

I bought this crib for my son and when he was just 6 months old, he managed to break the sliding bars on the side off of the hinges completely, he fell out on his head and luckily he did not get seriously injured. I had reported this crib for recall.

Please do yourselves a favor and do not use this crib. Its made cheap, and it breaks easily! Your child could end up seriously injured or worse with this crib!

The clips on the crib are plastic, and they break with very little pressure. They even sent me a new side panel for it, and low and behold, those clips broke as well. I ended up not even getting my money back for the crib, and their customer service was very poor. They didnt even ask me if my son was even ok, they pretty much just brushed the chip off their shoulder.

I am very disgusted in this company and their crib. Please people, don't put your child in this.

I am going to update this review once more. It's been well over a year now since I posted this, and I haven't even heard from the company about this crib breaking. I even reported this to the better business burough and several other child safety companies. And I haven't seen this crib for sale since I've had people report this as defective as well. Yes, I sent your replies in as well!

I still did not get a refund, but instead, I put my kid in a regular toddler bed, which he has been safer in, and I haven't had any problems with that.

So I hope this review gets to other people, and if you know loved ones that have this crib, please, i beg for your kids safety to not put them in this crib!

I wish you all well, and take care!

Thank you all for your replies on this crib. I do hope your kids do not get hurt. I did report this product as defective and even had people come and take photo's of it, and even a survey to send to their company as a report as to how and why it broke. Believe me, Corinne, even moving this thing, it fell apart on me several times and yes, the screws are not well threaded. I will never buy anything from this company ever again. If I do ever have another child, I will build him/her a crib. I will take your responses as well and give this to the people who I am claiming this as defective to, maybe we can get our money back at least.

I whole heartedly agree with this reviewer! We bought this crib and when we got it home the screws would not tighten, the drop side clips also broke, and the wood itself was broken straight out of the box. It took 3-4 months to get a replacement dropside (which had the busted piece of wood) and they failed to send a new back board so the screws would actually fit. I finally superglued the screws in place so that my new baby would not pull them out and choke on them. Also the finish scratches very easily. Additionally one of the slats on the new dropside split as I leaned in to pull my child out of the crib...which I had to lean in because the actual dropside itself was junk and would jump the track, or drop on one side but not the other. Definitely a waste of money and unsafe for any child...I just keep waiting for a formal recall, this one definitely deserves it.

I agree about the crib being poorly made. We bought this crib for our daughter when she was about 6 months old due to her first crib falling apart. With in the first month of having this crib she was able to make the whole drop side bend and almost break. Then when we went to move it so we could vacuum under it the back side cracked by where the bolts attach. Needless to say she was out a crib instantly. She ended up in a toddler bed from that point on.

This crib does suck! Mine was broken too when it arrived, but they replaced the part. Now seven months later my 15 month old son has gotten his knee stuck in between the rails twice. Good luck to all still using it.

My daughter is 7 months old, and she has been using it since birth. Is that 'testing' enough? We haven't had a single problem with this crib. I put it together before she was born, and put ALL my weight on the dropside rail. It held up to that, as well as my 5 year old hanging on the railing. We love this crib, and plan on using in for her toddler bed as well.

In response to nipple's comment from Jan 19, 2009 at 2:08PM:

This was within 5 - 6 months of use. Not just PUTTING it together. I never had a problem putting it together nor working it. Do not post some bullshit if you just buying it and putting it together without fully testing it. This site is about TESTING stuff. And obviously, you didn't test it.

Good luck on the crib, sure it's nice when you first get it... and I pray and hope your child does not get hurt in this crib like mine did.

I'm not sure what this guy is talking about. me and my fiance purchased this crib for our son. this crib is not cheaply put together at all. there was only one problem that we had when putting it together and that was for the front that slides down. we didn't realize there were two tabs underneath that needed to be pulled out for it to work correctly. once the tabs were put in there correct position and the front attached, there were no troubles at all. this crib works wonderfully.
