For the price they were nice. Definitely a little worn and the beds are hard. We had 11 rooms and only 2 received the King bed requests. All were ocean view though so we were satisfied overall. The rooms were fine, not fancy. Maid service was good and the towel animals were a cute touch. We enjoyed listening to the ocean at night.

We were on the construction side. I was concerned based on reviews. They are at the point where it's just hammering and really you can't hear it over the ocean. They started about 8am and ended about 6pm. We had to turn our heads to see the construction.... read full review »

The hotel is in a great location, right across from the little town of Ixtaoa where there is shopping and eating, however I found the food in the hotel to be better than in the town. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when ever we needed anything. The rooms are modern with the commforts of any quality hotel in the states. The pool is great with one side for kids and a slide and the other for adults with a swim up bar. The hotel had staff personel at pool side who would bring drinks/food directly to you and in reasonable time. The only negative is getting a lounge chair. People... read full review »

Fun and sun on the beach in Ixtapa

The Dorado Pacifico was directly across the street from shopping and restaurants. The four restaurants at Dorado Pacifo had good food and great service. The beds were hard so we asked for pads to soften them up and received them in a very timely manner for Mexico! The pads made the bed totally comfortable and we were very good for sleeping. The pool was pleasant and clean and the property was right on the beach. There was a choice of sitting on lounge chairs at the pool or under palapas on the beach. Some of the pool chairs had seen better days, but there were plenty to choose from.... read full review »

The common areas and pool are very nice. The staff was friendly and the service above average. Rooms need a face lift...very dated with poor air conditioning. Excellent daily maid service to include turn down service and fresh towels at the end of the day. Pool and Pool Bar beautiful location right on the ocean. Pool cushions need replacing. Pool service, lunch and drinks served pool side above average. Very limited spa services and no fitness center. Good value and excellent location within walking distance to the market, shops and excellent restaurants.

The Dorado Pacifico has a staff the is always courteous and friendly. No question is to trivial for them to answer. The amenities such as the pool,outdoor restaurants,and activities for adults and children are excellent. The hotel is walking distance to upscale shopping and also to the flea market. Restaurants within walking distance are Mr. Frogs, Bogarts and other hotels that have fiestas and fine dining.

Dining: Short Walk, Mama Normans & Deborah has excellent food and two-for-1 beer and margaritas in the afternoon

The Dorado Pacifico was beautiful & provided every possible amenity -- it would have been possible to enjoy the entire week without leaving the hotel grounds. The concierge & transportation assistants were also able to make all possible arrangements for trips to other locations. The food was excellent, & especially fun was the swim-up bar.

Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, Try Bogart's restaurant for fabulous flaming dishes, a romantic piano player, & impeccable service.

The dorado pacifico was a great place to stay lots of activities to do throughout the day for all age groups. Hotel was clean staff very friendly and a great location. Overall I would go back and stay. Also the pool was great and the gulf just steps away.

Dining: Short Walk, A restaurant called chili beans had great pancakes and omlettes. For lunch and dinner the tacos and fajita's were good and service was very friendly and quick.

My sweet heart's first trip to Mexico

The Dorado was a great place to stay. They bumped us up to a suite when checking in That was cool! At times the loud music at the pool was a bit much as were the screaming kids. Then it was time to walk the beautiful beach and relax there. I would go back and the hotel staff was great!

Dining: Short Walk, Lots of different choices of food in Ixtapa, just a short walk from the hotel.

the dorado pacifico is greatto stay at..it is centrally located and the staff at the hotel are good to everyone..they are helpful and because we stay there all the time they always recognize us when we stay there and give us the extra service...also they remember what we like when we are at the pool..

Nightlife: Short Walk, we like to party at beer planet and senor frog's

The Dorado Pacifica has a very nice layout, especially the rooms with a view of the coast. Proximity to everything is great and the surrounding areas are kept very clean. Convientely located to the airport and the fishing village of Zihuatanejo. I'd reccommend this resort to anyone who wants to get off the plane and just relax.

Great hotel for families. Lots of amenities. A little too Americanized for my taste. Comfortable rooms, great views, great housekeeping staff. Room issues could have been handled by the front desk staff a little better.

Dining: Short Walk, Everything within walking distance...food, shopping, taxis beaches. A great location.
