I thought I was purchasing a quality item when I bought the IT  handbag at the Dooney and Bourke store in Dallas.... Wrong!!!  I purchased the white  bag, and it turned yellowish after a year of use.  It was yellow under the coating, and I could not get to it to clean it.  I was disappointed for how much money I paid for it.  I purchased a Furla purse and like it much better.

MOmmyof3girls...hi there! Wow, what an awful experience. Hey, I would feel the same way...."simply ripped off to be honest!" We do learn from these bad experiences and these companies that can't stand behind their merchandise become HISTORY! Sorry about all this...MOmmyof3girls. Have a good and safe day. ~Angel~

I think what happened with this particular bag, is that the inner and outer layers separated and then the inner layer turned yellow. The lady at the Dooney and Bourke store told me that the outer layer was made of raincoat type material and could just be wiped clean with a damp cloth, which was true, but then the layers separated. I am sure the leather purses they make would have held up better. I did not try to return the purse, because it had been a little over a year. Thanks for your comments, I should have at least made an attempt to return the purse to see what the company would do to help the customer.

I have a Dooney & Bourke handbag and it also turned yellow and i tried to return it for a full refund or either get a replacement and they told me that i would have to pay for shipping and send it to them and let them inspect it and they did and they said that that was normal to do with that type of leather and that they would give me half off any bag but that it couldn't be on sale it had to be a full price bag~ I will never buy from them ever again! That was 140.00 down the drain!

Hi there sandralee... This is a really great review! The product testing at first and next "the truth" comes out. Sometimes that's not so good! You said it just how it is and that's what we want here at Viewpoints. Dooney and Bourke is (usually) a very dependable bag, but so very over priced. All of the Dooney and Bourke handbags that I have purchased so far seem to last forever. They are still "just like new." However, there are always that occasional style or workmanship of any handbag company that can fail us all now and then. Therefore, I am thinking that this particular handbag just may be what we all call a "LEMON! Sorry this happen to you sandralee, I know how annoying this can be. Can you return it or have you tried? This company being as huge as it is worldwide just might want to hear about this problem you had with your bag? They may wish to reimburse you? Have you tried to return it yet? If not, please try to do this and let me know what happens. This will show just how well they treat their customers. That would be most interesting to us all. Thank you for this well written and honest review. :) ~Your friend Angel~
