As a classic game show fan, I don't often find good gameshows in this day and age. Gameshows of the 1950's-1980's were what they were all about - Hosts that took their job seriously, contestants who were excited but not obnoxious, exciting games that challenged the minds of the players as well as the...

Quick View: One of two of almost exact game shows that premiered this week where contestants have to remember the lyrics of songs, this one is just awful. It's not funny and it drones on way too long. If I HAD to pick one of the two shows, I would pick Singing Bee with Joey Fatone to watch. If I HAD...

I love the show except all the commercials. The commercials really drag the show out! Wayne Brady is great and makes the show add a sense of humor. Some of the contestants have great voices and some not so great but they have alot of courage to get up there and sing. I think some of the songs are hard because you just miss by one word and you lose the money. I find it entertaining to watch but again it gets dragged out by the commercials and can be moved along more. You can tell the contestants are really having alot of fun and it seems like the audience is also.

I have read some reviews that speak of how bad people on this show sing, but we can't all be musically gifted. Wayne Brady does a good job at hosting and rarely have I seen him make a face when these people sing on the show. He always seems encouraging and sincere when he talks to them as they try to win the elusive $1,000,000 top price.

The Show

A contestant must choose a song from the 2 songs in each of 9 different categories and sing the missing lyrics. Sometimes it is 3 missing words and sometimes a lot more, I have seen it go up to 12 missing words. Once they sing the song and get to the missing...

Last night, after my kids and I finished watching the American Idol results, Fox immediately started showing Don't Forget the Lyrics. I've never had much desire in watching this show before, and wanted to switch the channel right then. My son told me he'd seen the show before and thought it was really good, asking me to leave it on. I relented and promised him one song. I was just going to watch the contestant get the lyrics to one song, and then I was turning it off. An hour later I turned it off and had all sorts of songs, good and bad, stuck in my head.

So how did I get stuck watching the whole...

I feel that Wayne Brady is one of the most down to earth and entertaining people of our day and age. What a feeling to be able to remember the lyrics of the sounds of yesteryear, sing along, and cheer on somebody else! It is easy to follow along, and Wayne Brady makes every contestant feel that they are important, not just a paycheck to himself. I have always enjoyed the connection that Wayne has with the people around him, from Drew Carey on Who's Line Is It Anyway, t.v. commercials for a great cup of coffee or his latest venture on Don't Forget the Lyrics. He is much more entertaining to... read full review »

This is a great game show because it is a combination of a modern game show and a reality show.  The show is only a half hour long, but you not only get to see the contestants compete, but you get to take a step into their lives for a few moments.  Most seem like people you just want to root for, because the game can be challenging.  The premise of the game is that they let you as a contestant pick a category of song and then a song comes up on the screen.  Then you use your karaoke winning voice to sing until the song suddenly stops.  Then you have the tough job of finishing the song by inputting... read full review »

This show is fun to watch, but I wish it was longer. It reminds me of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" with the life-line things, and the suspense of finding out if someone is right or not, which gets kind of old. Wayne Brady is hilarious, as always, and very entertaining, along with some of the contestants. I wouldn't be surprised if some record deals come out of that show.

Contestants are allowed to choose between two songs per category. The contestant is asked to sing the lyrics to the chosen song and fill in missing words. Correctly singing the lyrics, the contestant wins money. The money increases each round and if they reach the 25,000$ spot, then they are guaranteed to walk away with 25,000$. They are able to use 3 helps. The first help is a list of four possible lyric lines, where one of them is correct. The second help is chosing two words to see the correct word. And the third help is having a family member or friend come and sing the song with you. Each...

I love this show.  Wayne Brady is great and the contestants are fun.  I like the singing bee on NBC, but I think this show is better.  There is more of a challenge and I can get more involved with the contestant.  The contestants on the Singing bee are hard to route for because they are not around long enough for us to get to know them.  Don't forget the lyrics catches us up in the action because the contestants become real people with an actual purpose for the money and they really have to work for it.

I always think I really know music, but this show throws me out in left field each...

This show is quite entertaining.  The first time I watched it I wasn't sure whether or not it would be worth my while so I elected to change the channel in mid-stream.  The second time I had the opportunity to watch it I stuck with it mainly because of the host Wayne Brady (I'm a fan).  I got lucky when the show had a contestant who came with her own "fan club".  Since that time I try to watch it regularly and have not been disappointed.  Sometimes I even know the lyrics!

For me, I like shows that challenge my intelligence and/or memory.  The songs on the program are from the "oldies"...

When I heard that Wayne Brady was going to be hosting this show I just HAD to watch. I absolutely love him. I think he's hilarious and cute. Plus he's an amazing singer.

When we tuned in to watch, I was pleased to see that this show was very entertaining and held my interest. Most reality game shows (Deal or No Deal, Smarter then a 5th Grader) lose my interest after a while. I find myself really getting into Don't Forget the Lyrics.

Wayne Brady does a great job as host. I love when he starts to sing along with the contestants. He has a great personality and fits in perfectly with this type of game...

Wayne Brady is the host of this singing show and I think he's what makes the show.  The show is fun to watch and see if people know the lyrics to hit songs.  Some songs are easy, and others are harder to remember what the lyrics are, but people will fill in the lyrics with whatever they think they are and it's funny to hear the answers.  I haven't seen anyone take home the top prize yet, but it's bound to happen.  My only cripe with the show is that there are too many commercials.

I love the show Don't Forget the Lyrics. It is a wholesome show that I am not scared to watch with my grandchildren for fear of what is going to be said or shown. The majority of the contestants are very good singers and looks like they are having a lot of fun. It is fun to play along at home too because most of the songs offered are older songs. I would be very sad if they were to take the show off the air. I love Wayne Brady and he looks like he is having a good time as well.
