Deceitful and dishonest counter staff

This is my ongoing story of their counter staff falsely informing me of 'mandatory policies' That I must agree to pay for or else I won't get my vacation car. "My confirmation number is J11746998F3 I have been asked to send you a private message to discuss my complaint. I emailed full details of my complaint in but nobody was interested in dealing with it. I came over on vacation from the UK, and clearly made it obvious that I was a UK citizen, I was quoted a price that I was told didn't need anything else adding to it. Then when I got to the counter a very forceful woman told me that I must purchase additional insurances and that I wasn't eligible for the price I was quoted and charged more than double what was remaining on the loan. I questioned it at the time but was told that my price was only valid for US citizens and not for overseas visitors. I feel as though I have been robbed, and sold a false story of what I could have. Had I realised that this was how you operated your business, then I would have used another company. I've only chosen to use Facebook to complain as you have ignored m for a week now through usual channels Thank you for providing me with this information, Damon. Shuttle service

4 stars for the car. This is the first time I rent from dollar, the price is correct and the car is clean. On the other hand, the shuttle service is to be corrected, in fact when we return to the airport, the driver, a woman, dropped us off at the Terminal of arriving instead of the Terminal of departure, and was boarding those who had just arrived. This is not normal. It is the reason of my 1 star

Why does USA allow this company to rip off visitors? Doesn't America have trading standards? I prebooked and paid in full for var rental in January. I picked vehicle up in May and returned it full of petrol, in perfect condition after no problems and delighted with the service apparently delivered - only to find out on my return to UK that I had been ripped off for additional charges not asked for and not required!

I rented a car at a rate of 19.42 per day. i have extended the rental multiple times and each time they would give me a new total based on the original rate. then when i turned the car in they said they were sorry I had been misquoted but that the rate after the initial week was actually 39.15 per day. So i wended up owing them 1k more than i was quoted.

We rented from Orlando in May 2018. The rate was good. We were told that we needed the SunPass because there are some tolls that cannot be paid with cash or credit - THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! Due to this dishonesty will NOT USE THEM AGAIN, if they lie about that, what else??? DON'T USE AT ALL, BUT IF YOU DO - DONT GET THE SUNPASS...get yourself some small bills and change for tolls.

I rented a car on 4/10 from the Orlando airport to rush to family member's bedside to say goodbye. I was in a state of distress and got the car and drove 2 hours to the hospital with my 3 kids as soon as I could. I dropped the car off on 4/12 and did not refill the tank because I had got the refueling option. After checking my credit card, they charged me $9.99/gallon for a total of $156.59 for a refueling charge. I called to ask for the fee to be reversed and the lady on the phone, basically told me that I told the personal at the counter that I did NOT want the refueling option. She refused to reverse the charge, because it was stated clearing on the first page of the contract. I explained that if I thought I did not have the refueling option, why would I drop the car off without filling it up. She kept saying " I apologize, but you signed the contract where it is "clearly" stated. I will NEVER use Dollar to rent a car again!!

Dollar Rental Car Review - Feb2018-02-19 We reserved a small card at Dollar, located at Dallas Love Field for Feb 16 to Feb 18. After flight delays and arriving late to Dallas, we finally jumped on the bus to Dollar Rent a Car. We were anxious to get the car and get to the hotel, since it was about 11:30 to 12:00 at night. Upon getting to the desk and telling the man behind the counter our name, reservation and confirmation number, we were told that they did not have a car for us. The only vehicle they had was a truck. We were not too pleased with this, since I knew we would be doing a lot of driving back and forth. Obviously, gas mileage would be 1/3 of what the car would be. Looking back at the line, I thought to myself that at least I would have a vehicle. We grudgingly accepted the truck. As we were exiting the building, it appeared that there were 2 trucks available. The parking lot was empty. There were about a dozen people behind us that would not be happy. I felt ambivalent that I at least got a vehicle, if not the small car we had reserved. Well, we get into the truck and to my surprise, the gas tank is half full! As anyone who rents a car knows, the salesperson tells you to refill the tank or pay an exorbitant fee to fill the tank. However, as the next customer, I expect that the vehicle would contain a full tank of gas. I told the attendant as I was leaving that I did not have a full tank and he marked it on the paperwork. It is now 12:00 to 12:30 in the morning, and obviously dark. Later the next day, we open the back doors. We find trash in the back seat and an empty Gatorade bottle in the truck bed. Was this vehicle even cleaned for the next customer? We do our thing and are ready to return the vehicle. I stop to add gas with the intention to fill the tank to the 3/8 to ½ tank to match what was given to me. Unfortunately, I was unable to match it after turning off and on the vehicle to allow the gas gauge

This is a part of the letter I sent to Corporate To Whom It May Concern: I secured my ticket to arrive in Indianapolis and also made reservations to pick up a car at the Indianapolis Airport at the Dollar counter. I used Orbiz to find the best deal, with a good rating, that I could find: $12 per day At the counter the clerk asked for my information. I gave him: My driver's license My State Farm insurance card My flight itinerary My Visa debit card He said he had every thing he needed and confirmed that he had my reservation. The trouble began when he tried to run my card. There wasn't a chip reader on the customer keypad and it wouldn't take my card's stripe. I knew the card was good and over the next few days the card was used several times by swiping without incident, but he could not make the card read with his program. Since there was no chip reader: I suggested he key in the numbers-he would be fired for that. I suggested I call someone to use his/her card and I could transfer funds to them-he needed the card in hand. I suggested I pay cash-he wasn't allowed to take cash. I suggested a manager-he called one over. The woman never addressed me directly until she said there was nothing she could do. Rather, she tried pulling the card through the slot again several times and had the clerk do it, also. By now, a spot had been worn on the back on my card in the middle of the silver stripe. The manager walked away. The clerk suggested I take my confirmation information to Avis to see if they might honor the deal. I went to the Avis counter. The clerk found what he said to be his best deal; a compact car for $198. My deal was for under $60 . My AARP card brought the price down to $164.20. Having no other recourse, I paid him, with the card Dollar had been unable to use. This was not only more than $100 than budgeted; this was also more than one tenth of my monthly income that was unbudgeted. Not a good thing for a retired teacher.

Run away from Dollar Car Rental!

I went on the Dollar website and booked my vehicle several weeks in advance. The internet booking went well and I thought this may just be my company's new car rental partner because of the pricing and the website experience...but when I arrived at the Dallas Ft Worth airport it turned into the worst experience I have ever had. The behavior of the staff at the Dollar rental desk, including the manager, was that of bullies in middle school. It was immature and degrading. One young lady couldn't work her computer (not sure why) so after 5 or 6 minutes, I was passed to an older woman who could not answer or did not want to answer my questions about why things were not the same as what I had already paid online. On the 3rd question, which was after they ran a credit check without my permission, she turned made a face and went to the managers office. The other young lady at the desk followed her into the office but did not close the door. I heard part of a rude comment then they were all laughing. So I walked back so I could see in the office and as soon as the manager saw me she said "there he is" they all stopped laughing and the manager grabbed a framed document off of the counter and put it in my face, saying "this was their rules and if I didn't like it I could go rent a car from some where else and that the website was run by a third party and they had no affiliation with them". So not only was it the worst customer service ever, they ran my credit without my permission, charged me more money even after I had paid online for the car, they also put a hold on my business checking account for unknown amount. When I asked how much they snapped back and said they didn't know how much the hold was for. They didn't know about the website, they didn't know about holds being put on my checking account and they surely know absolutely nothing about how to treat a fellow human being, much less customer service!
