Dollar Rent A Car Review

Planned ahead, got my confirmation...set to go for a long Labor Day weekend...no problem, right? Got what I thought was a fairly decent deal thru Hotwire--still expensive, but the best deal I could find. Dollar rented me an "economy" car which was a run-down, crappy/gross electric-blue Chevy which had so much body damage it looked like somebody's old beater. The entire back bumper was exposed and paint was peeling off in visible strips. They WERE fair enough to refund my money (and admit that they should not be renting this particular car to anybody any more)--but would not give me another rental for even close to the same price... but spending the time to find another rental agency & waiting in line AGAIN put me behind 45-60 minutes to my destination. ACES  to ACE rental car agency @ the Austin airport...who not only matched the Hotwire price (when Hertz wouldn't), but rented me a beautiful, new Corolla. Nice folks, too. They earned my business. Dollar (including it's sister-agency Thrifty) has seen the last of me.
