Dole Pineapple Slices is an item that is frequently on my shopping list. I love pineapple and especially fresh pineapple but don't like going through the hassle of coring a fresh pineapple. I'm usually running in and out and this doesn't leaven much time for extra duties in the kitchen. Therefore, I usually pick up canned fruit and we and enjoy it whenever we feel like having fruit. I don't have to worry about it spoiling like fresh fruit either.

Dole Pineapple Slices 20 oz.

Dole Sliced Pineapple comes in a 20 oz. can. The pineapple is all neat, cored and sliced evenly. Each can contains about 10 slices in 100% pineapple juice.

There are several good reasons to eat pineapple. It's healthy for you! It does not contain any fat, is cholesterol free and very low in sodium. It is rich in Vitamin C, which is a daily vitamin most do not get enough of.

You can also purchase Dole Pineapple in chucks or tidbits.

My Viewpoint

I love to eat Dole Sliced Pineapple either as a snack or for dessert. It's always fresh and has a good flavor. I like to keep a couple of cans on hand because I also use Dole Sliced Pineapple when cooking. It's a great addition to cooking a baked ham along with a bit of brown sugar sprinkled on top. I also use it when we grill outdoors on shish kabobs. It helps flavor the meat and is also great cooked on top of baked chicken. Another recipe I use Dole Sliced Pineapple on is for Pineapple Upside Down cakes.

Overall, I think this is a great product. It cost less than a buck a can and you can enjoy fresh fruit whenever you want it or use it for cooking. It's healthy for you and you can also have a small glass of juice since it is packed in 100% pineapple juice.

Dole Sliced Pineapple is a product I keep on hand for snacks, dessert and cooking.  It's perfect for a pineappe upside down cake!   It's very handy, inexpensive and ready to use once you open the can.  I love it!

You're right, this pineapple is out of this world! ;>

Love it! My husband eats these as a dessert and we eat the rings on ham, grilled just a bit. Delish!

Plus, they say it is more economical than cutting up a fresh pineapple which produces a lot of waste trimmed off, etc. I'm with you, I just love ol' Blue!

I tried it a few times. Hawaiian pizza, it's often called, and usually has either ham or Canadian bacon as the meat counterpart. Delicious.

I agree! The shortcut is better. Fresh pineapples are so hard to get in to and I'm so clumsy, I would cut myself before it was all over.

I love fresh fruit, but, sometimes it's more practical to just buy this kind of stuff. I love pineapple!
