Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette Spray for Women —

I loved what PattyThere had to say about the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue perfume.  I'm glad to refer back to her review because I honestly don't know how to critique a perfume except to say: "like it/hate it, cheap/expensive, and smells good/smells bad."  Light Blue does have a sense of elegance to it--play on words there!  It does remind me of fresh linens or a nice air freshener.  When I wear it I feel like I'm ready for a night out on the town!

I was introduced to this perfume by default.  I had my best friend's little girl Lizzie with me one evening and we were looking at a glamour magazine.  Lizzie got a hold of the perfume card that they insert between the pages of the magazine and she said, "Doesn't this smell like Miss Beverly?"  (another friend of mine).  I smelled the insert and sure enough it did smell like Beverly.  On a hunch I emailed Beverly and asked her if she wore Light Blue and she said yes.  I have very bad allergies and generally I choose my perfumes cautiously.  I get an idea if I can handle a certain fragrance by whether or not I get a headache when around someone.  See where this is going?  Most of my perfumes have a history of being worn by close friends and family and then I branch out and get it.  Thus was the case with Light Blue.

We took the high school girls in my youth group to Concord Mills Mall in NC for a shopping trip.  On a whim I went into a perfume "factory" and they had an elaborate display for Light Blue.  I told the guy how much it was selling for at my Dillards Dept. store back home and he gave it to me for $10 less.  So, I believe I got it for about $55--just the perfume.  I think the bottle is beautiful because the light blue cap sets it apart from the others and the hazy part seems like you're looking thru a frosted window pane.

I wear several varieties of perfumes.  I save the more expensive ones Coco Chanel Mademoiselle, Light Blue and Paloma Picasso for evenings out or church and then I wear the cheaper ones on an every day basis.  Well, I have gotten a ton of compliments on Light Blue.  I was told that a good perfume is one that you cannot smell on yourself.  I guess this is my perfume then because I am always complaining that I can't smell it.

Lizzie's mom (Lori is in my photo corner) is always telling me how much she likes it and when Lizzie is at my house she will beg me to let her wear a little dab.

I decided to get the lotion and I hated it!  I don't think the lotion was anything like the perfume!  It was very runny; which is to be expected for a lotion--creams are richer!  The scent 'bout killed me.  By the time I got out of the mall I had the worst headache you could imagine.  I thought perhaps the sales clerk had squirted too much on me.  I tried to wash it off and the scent lingered.  I finally had to get a bath to get it off!  I took that bottle of lotion back and got a refund.

I hope this becomes one of those timeless perfumes--you know like the Windsong perfumes  that always make you think of mom or grandma!  I would hate to fall in love with a new fragrance only to discover it was discontinued down the road.   That happened before.

Have any of you ladies out there ever worn K-De-Krizia?  I wore it in high school.  Had to buy it in New York.  Oh how I wish it were still available.

I adore this perfume and always get compliments. I buy it at www.scentiments.com, usually as a tester (New and unopened just without the fancy cap or box). It is much less expensive to buy it there and I use it almost daily with no guilt. I wasn't bowled over by the lotion but it wasn't awful. I prefer just the perfume. It's light but definitely there.
