Dog Rescues —

I have adopted my dogs through animal resuce groups or foster homes. I prefer to adopt the older animals because I feel that they have  a less chance of finding a home. It seems everyone wants the cute little puppy or kitten. Then a lot of times the novelty wears off and these animals find themselves in a shelter somewhere or dumped on the road wondering around and starving.I often wonder how people can be so cruel as to do this.People are so busy with their lives these days that i believe that they forget the commitment that they make to these animals. you should not adopt on a spurr of the moment thing, please stop and think about all the pros and cons before adopting. These animals depend on us for their lives. To be sheltered, feed ,loved ,kept healthy. All they want is a little of your time and they will faithfull to you forever, until the end of their time.I currently have 2 dogs, 1 is an akita mix, and the other is a lab mix. I also have one cat. We are now considering a  third dog. they all get along wonderfully. I feel sad for the people that gave up on them. They are always there for us and can sure cheer you up even when you get down.Remeber the animals will all have their faults just as all humans do.But please consider adoping a shelter,or foster home pet. To me they make the best pets in the world. Have lots of patience with them and your return will be thier lifetime of faithfullness and unconditional love.
