Helping a dog that has no where to go

I have always loved animals and I am saddened and sickened by those who would abuse any animal. We currently have four dogs and a homeless cat that I feed. The cat I named Sneakers because about a year ago she began to sneak into my yard for food, and she knows that whenever I see her sneaking around in the back yard I will go out and feed her. Sneakers is mute and she only has one eye. I am not sure if the loss of her eye is from an injury or a birth defect, but it makes no difference. I am sure that no one else would care of her, but I always will because I see the appreciation in her eyes each time I feed her. Our dogs are all rescued dogs of mixed breeds, and no human could ever match the love that they have brought into our lives. The last two dogs were from a shelter in Nashville called Happy Endings Animal Rescue, which is run by the most devoted dog lover I have ever met. Cody has dedicated his life, and every cent to his name, to care for these abandoned or abused animals until a forever home can be found. He lives a simple life because he provides for his dogs before he considers his own needs. He works long hours with little support from the human population, but his reward comes from the love and gratitude from each dog in his care. I would recommend that every dog lover donate time, money and word of mouth recommendations for an animal rescue shelter to everyone they know. A little donation from a lot of people is as good as a large donation from one, and giving a chance to a loving animal is more reward than can be measured.
