I am a volunteer for a boxer rescue and it is very satisfying but also very sad. I have fostered a boxer and ended up adopting him. I am grateful to the rescue for letting me know how important it is to rescue a dog and not buy one. There are so many animals out there that need forever homes. If you know anyone that is considering buying a dog, tell them about petfinder.com. They have every kind of dog, cat, animal possible for adoption. Just pick a breed and your community and you will be amazed how many are available in your neighborhood just waiting for you to love them.

We found our wonderful dog through petfinder.com (in Rowan county NC) and she has been an amazing addition to our family. She is now a pet therapy dog, working through our church, and brings joy to everyone who meets (and pets) her! I would NEVER buy a pet from a breeder because there are SO many wonderful animals at these shelters and rescues!

If you want to help Boxers more go to http://www.iGive.com/BRBR This is a site for shopping on line. It is free to join and when you buy stuff even from EBay they donate a % to our cause. Also, Goodsearch.com will give a penny for every search you do. It is powered by Yahoo so you don't have to worry and those penny's add up. Thank you for caring about this breed. Peace, Robyn

It is very rewarding. My Boxer is only 2 and sometimes a pain in the ***, but I wouldn't give him back for anything. He brings me too much happiness so I forget the pain stuff and love him all I can. Peace, Robyn

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his
life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to
the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such
devotion.

I agree. Adopting is the only way to go.
