We have two pugs, ages 6 and 3.  Both are very loving dogs and good pets.  They do require a lot of attention.  They're like spoiled babies in that they want to be with their people all the time.  They follow one of us around all the time and want attention.  With the two of them, on is dominant and pushes the other around.  They want to sleep in our bed and unfortunately, my wife allows it much of the time.  They both snore terribly.  Probably the biggest negative is that they shed hair a lot.  Constant vacuuming is required.  Overall, they are very good dogs.  If you want a good pet and loyal companion, a pug is right for you.
