I've owned 2 Miniature Schnauzers and they are quite zany little companions!  They are both smart and loyal...and very lovable!  I can't say enough about this breed.  They are not overly fragile, but actually quite muscular which is great if you have kids who like to rough-house with them!  Oh I could go on forever!

I've had my Harley for 15 years now. Besides her health problems from being so purebred, she is suppose to be a show dog, her dad was a Westminister champion, but I didn't have the heart to get her ears clipped. Harley is very smart, loyal and has been a great family pet. My kids even refer to her as their little sister.

I am here to talk about my Mini Schnauzer Tucker. He is now 7 years old. He is salt and pepper colored and slightly overweight if I must say. They say the average weight of an adult Miniature Schnauzer is approx. fifteen pounds. Tucker however weighs twenty-seven pounds. We are working on that though because that is to much! Tucker loves to be petted but I will say he is not kid friendly. I have to watch him closely around my little cousins because he doesn't like the running around and other commotion. He has snapped at small kids before. I'm not sure if this is a normal thing or just his temperment....

I have a miniature schnauzer, his name is Oreo. He is the cutest little guy I have ever seen, he is very smart but also very stubborn at times. I think that this is a good family dog because even though they are small they are full of energy! My miniature schnauzer does not eat a lot. He is a great companion, very loyal, and he loves to play. Although he is smaller than a regular schnauzer he isn't too small that you have to watch out from having to step on him or anything like that. He is very energetic and there is no sweeter feeling than coming home from work and finding your schnauzer that...

My house got broken into.  I couldn't sleep for weeks.  I decided to get a dog for my protection.  I decided to visit the Jacksonville Humane Society.  I looked at several dogs and came upon a miniature schnauzer.  I wasn't sure he would be a good protector.  However, he looked at me with those big brown eyes and chose me!  We have been together ever since at the best of buds.  He is very protective, loyal, funny, sweet, and just wonderful.  I was told that he would be a one person pet but he loves all in our household.  He even tolerates the cats unless they try to get into our laps. ...

I have had Miniature Schnauzers my entire life.  I have not found a better breed to have.  I am allergic to any animal that sheds or has dander and the miniature Schnauzer is one of the few that I can have.  They are very smart and easy to train.  They are loyal and VERY patient with children.  They are truly a perfect match for any family.  Since they are small, they can sit on your lap or share your bed and not take up much room.  There is no other breed of dog I would want to own!!!!!!!!

I had a Miniature Schnauzer for many years.  She was an amazing pet.  She hardly ever barked and I never once heard her growl or snap in anger.  She was playful and loving.  She was also very flexible about being taken in the car or to new places.  She was great with children of any age.  I would get another one!  Also, I am allergic to dogs and never had one problem with her.  She had to be cut as she didn't shed.

I love our dog Oscar, but he barks like crazy! (other friends who have bought this dog say there's doesn't bark as much as mine does).

We love him to death! However, be aware that they cost quite a bit for maintenance. Haircuts, vet appointments, and the fact that they are scroungers.

We wouldn't trade ours, but read up on the facts before you buy one!

A great family pet!

I've had three miniature schnauzers since I was six years old.  They are the greatest dogs I've ever hard.  They are so cute and so bossy!  It's great because they have the best personality!  They can give such attitude, but it's just so cute!  They are also very laid back dogs, they bark, but they are the most chill and relaxed dogs I have ever had.

the best dog I have ever owned was a mini schnauzer. He was the best behaved dog on the planet. easily trainable, but they do have a mind of their own. they can be stubborn. they require regular grooming. a trip to the groomer approx every 4-8wks, and a good brushing every day. they are active and need regular exercise. and they are also very loving dogs.

I currently have a miniature schnauzer, named Sunshine, who is 4-1/2 year old.  I love him to death.  While growing up we had two miniature schnauzers and that is why I am a schnauzer lover! They are great dogs and will love you back 110%. I recommend miniature schnauzers to anyone looking for a great dog.

Miniature Schnauzers make wonderful indoor pets. They are very playful and WONDERFUL with children. They do have a annoying high pitched bark.  Ours easily house trained with only a few accidents. They need plenty of room to run and burn off some energy.

I have owned two mini schnauzers, and they are the most loveable, intelligent, clean little dogs I've ever encountered. They quickly start to understand everything you say to them, they learn tricks quickly, they are calm and patient, and they don't shed at all. They are the best!

We rescued 2 miniature Schnauzers when they were 4 and 5.  You could tell they were a bonded pair.  They were smart, friendly and so easy to love.  They lived to be 17 and 18 even though we did all the wrong things like feeding them from the table!! :)

I have had miniature schnauzers my entire life and these dogs really are all I will ever own.  In have witnessed three batches of puppies be born and watched many of those puppies grow up.  I have a very smart female of which I refer to as a "lover girl".  She is very much like a best friend, a companion.  This breed of dog is very good for families.  I like the fact that they do not shed and are a good watch dog even though they are not the "big dog".  Those big brown eyes with those long eyelashses...what's not to love!  I found this breed easy to house train; catch on quickly.  The one... review »
