We live in a world filled with a great many things.  There is much to be said for all our technical and scientific advances.  Those of us lucky enough to benefit from the progress seen in our country should appreciate the work and dedication that brought these successes about.

I am grateful for all I have.  I possess many of the "extras".  Yet, what brings me the most joy and makes me feel the best is spending time with Clara, Esther, and Sheena.  They are dobermans - that means they are sweet, loyal, playful, noble, and non-threateningly aggressive.  They communicate quite well.  A head...

While we love our Doberman passionately, and have had Dobes before, this is not a breed for a home consisting of many pets. They're definitely people oriented and tend to be territorial and protective.

Ours comes off downright ferocious with strangers, and once aforementioned stranger is approved she wants ALL the attention and all the "loves". She can be obnoxiously persistent about this, so we've had to be strict with her.

We got her as a watch-dog, primarily, and she's, of course, excellent at her job. Dobermans also tend to be almost scary-smart, with a really fun sense of doggy type humor....

I am in constant contact with a full breed Doberman pincher.  I want to tell all those skeptics about the Doberman turning on its owner.  My parents have owned two and they both were as gentle as babies.  One of them was even with a newborn and protected her like a soldier. The minute the baby cried the dog was the first one to check on her.  The only bad thing with them is that they seem to develop  arthritis really fast when they become older. That is how we lost the two Dobermans and it was so sad.

If you read my "I am" you will get the idea that I am nuts about animals. I have had several business ventures successfully fulfilling my love for them. But the first time i rescued a Doberman, I began a love affair that was cemented in place by her son, Houdini. I have owned them for 30 years now and cannot say enough great things about this breed, Loyal, protective without viciousness, so intelligent i think they read minds( Houdini took commands in 5 languages) , empathic, very genetically sound, and great bed warmers as they snuggle behind your knees. Anyone who gets one is in for a glorius...

I have owned many breeds of dogs, but was blown away by mt last, Katie - a small female Doberman.  I would have never considered picking one as a pet until one day someone tossed her from their car in the park. She is gentle and sensitive.  Katie loves games to play tug of war.  She is also very protective emitting a low growl to let me know when something threatening is near but she is not aggressive. She does not like cats and is slow to warm up to strange dogs. The dog park is not her cup of tea but she loves the local nature park where all dogs are on a leash.

I only have to show her something...

My dobermans name was Bruiser. To this day he was one of the greatest dogs I ever had. Unfortunatly he was born in a puppy mill before we got him and was born with a heart murmer that wasnt treated or monitored till he was 10 weeks old (when we got him) and it caused a heart attack before my beautiful boy was even 7. Miss him like crazy. Easy dog to train and awsome protection dog for any female.

If you are looking for the perfect pet.  A doberman is it!  They are easily trainable, and want to please.  They do like to run so make sure you have time to let them.  Dobermans are great with all ages of people from babies to the elderly.  I highly recommend that if you are looking for a dog look into this amazing breed.

Many people ignorantly believe that Dobermans are vicious and untrustworthy. I feel that this is mainly because this breed has been villainized on television and in movies for decades. One must realize that most of what we see on television and in theaters is FICTION!

I have spent many years working several different jobs inside the pet industry. I have known many a Doberman in my life. The vast majority of these dogs have been sweet, loving, devoted lap dogs. In fact, of the many Dobies I have known only one  was ever vicious and untrustworthy. However upon meeting this dogs owners it was...

I have five dobermans and I would give my life for them just as much as I believe they would for me.  Dawn, the mother of the younger 4, is the best mouser I have ever seen.  She will hear it or see it and she will actually sit for hours in one spot and not move a muscle waiting for the thing to show itself and in a flash she nabs it.  She is also great with keeping animals out of her yard.  She will growl and bark until it goes away, if it decides to venture into our yard, as we have experienced with a couple of frogs, she will hold it in her mouth until we take it from her and remove it...

We have owned three American Pitbulls in the past few months and have met alot of people who do too. None of these dogs have ever been aggressive to a human or another animal. I had to do alot of reading and social studying before I considered this breed to be a great loving, smart, affectionate, faithful and obediant pet. We have had our Blue/red nose mix (still called 100% American Pit) for 4 months and has been the best breed of puppy I have ever had! We payed on the smaller side for him including travel expenses and we would not even think to give him back or trade him off to anyone. I would...

i love my doberman!! what an excellent dog. not a dog for beginners though. i have had sever problems with bill ( my dobes name). he has had some nipping issues with strangers which is totally normal for dobes well actually any dog. he is not supposed to like strangers but is still wish  he wouldnt try to bite them. other that that he is a great dog. i have had him for almost a year now and he is the easiest dog to train that i have even owned. i have had alot of dogs too. i hardly ever have to yell at him he doesnt ever go to the bathroom in the house, he doesnt destry anything while i am gone...

When my husband and I first got married, it was several years before we owned our own home and could get a dog. Meantime, we went to every dog show around. Studied them.

Our first dog was a Doberman. Speckie. (shortened from his AKC name).  We got him from a reputable breeder and I trained him. He was MY dog.

A couple years later, I got pregnant. Evidently that was a bad thing to Speck. Before anyone could even tell I was pregnant, Speck came over, laid in my lap, looked up at me and growled.  Needless to say, I was scared. Evidently, males are super possessive - even to the point of a baby....

i got my first dog in 1998. i had a stroke and my boyfriend thought i needed  a companion for the days while being alone. he brought home a little bundle of joy. killer thought he was the king of the neighborhood. that's how he got his name. the following year, i got tessa. she was another bundle of joy. she thinks she is queen of the house. she still does! they have been so much fun in the past 10 1/2 years. they have been great on the days i needed a hug. i also have a big sheltie and a cat. it's great watching all of them when i needed a laugh too. killer now as developed a tumor that is cancerous.... read full review »

I have had two sets of dobermans.  A boy and a girl and two brothers.  I have also had poodles, labs, chows and mixed breeds.  Dobermen are my favorites.  They are gentle, affectionate, highly intelligent, great companions, and love you more than any human ever could.  They are great with children and wouldn't harm anyone.  My first set of dobies were around babies and loved them.  The girl looked like she was smiling all the time.  My second set, the two brothers loved each other and would not be separated.  They would both try to sit in my lap at the same time.  They are so intelligent...

It took me a year and a half to convince my husband to get a dog. He ended up picking the Doberman breed and a year later we are looking for another Dobie. We love our Zoe very much and can't imagine life without her. She is very loyal, can be a little sassy-but they say that pets take after their owners, so I guess that partly my fault. She loves to run and has a lot of energy, but she is a very loveable dog. After 6 wks of puppy class, she started behaving really well. We have a lot of people that come over and after spending time with our dog in the house, are wanting one of their own.
