Protective when needed, but not vicious, no hip problems, Too many pros for small space, love 'em, faithful, compassionate, seem to know i need hugs, easy to train, great bedwarmers on cold nites, genetically superior to other big breeds, little to no shedding

Cons
too smart, Train them, you won't regret it, sensitive

Dog Breed Dobermans —

I have five dobermans and I would give my life for them just as much as I believe they would for me.  Dawn, the mother of the younger 4, is the best mouser I have ever seen.  She will hear it or see it and she will actually sit for hours in one spot and not move a muscle waiting for the thing to show itself and in a flash she nabs it.  She is also great with keeping animals out of her yard.  She will growl and bark until it goes away, if it decides to venture into our yard, as we have experienced with a couple of frogs, she will hold it in her mouth until we take it from her and remove it from the yard.  Her kids are not nearly as studious though.  I have a blue dobie, skyler, that barks at everything that moves but she is very loyal and when she wants your attention she will come over to you and touch your face very lightly with her nose until you touch her.  Molly is red and very loyal, she does not like me to be out of her sight for very long and when we go to bed at night no matter how hot it is she has to be touching me.  Mitch, the only boy and also red, is the biggest bully/attention getter I have ever seen.  When someone he does not know comes near he will puff out his chest, lunge and bark, but... when you get within reach he wiggles his body the whole way over to the person and stares at them until they give him some attention.  Maggie, the smallest and also red is very hard to explain.  She loves everyone with everything she has in her but given the chance for the great escape and she will run for miles.  She looks very devilish and that she definitely is.  If there is no room on the couch for her to lay, she will get up on top of one of her sisters and lay down right on top of them.  They can growl and bark at her all they want and she will just continue with what she is doing.  She gets the wierdest looks on her face and then you know she is up to something.  All of my dobies are great with kids, and very protective of them, even if they aren't a member of the family.  Which has always been a shock to me since they were not raised around kids.
