I've owned Australia Shepherds for twelve years now and would not have any other breed of dog.  Though I love all dogs!  Be prepared to be "alpha dog" with an Aussie, because an intelligent dog prefers to think they're in charge.  Their intelligence will amaze you!!  With Australian Shepherds, you can train them to do anything you so desire.

my boyfriend and I have a 2 year old Australian Shepherd named Sadie and we love her to death. She is smart and beautiful and sweet. There is nothing that she wouldnt do for us. We bought her from a breeder online and had her shipped to us. She was just over 10 weeks old and she has been great since the day we got her. I love my Australian Shep mix.  He is a great provider but does in fact have a lot of energy.  He is 5 years old now and is not even close to slowing down.

My only concern is we are expecting our first grand child and he has never been around children so I hope all works out.
