Dog Breed Australian Shepherd —

We had never even considered an aussie until I saw an ad in the paper for the right price.  I must say that we could not have ended up with a better dog.

Our australian shepherd is very sweet towards everyone and tends to be a little overly-affectionate.  She lives to play and loves performing tricks.  She is very easily bored, however, and is starting to become a little destructive when we don't give her enough attention/exercise.  She absolutely loves dogs and kids, and will try to get all animals to play with her, which is great except that she doesn't understand when an animal is telling her to back off.

I am currently pregnant with my first child and my dog has become very watchful of me (she just turned one).  She will wait for me on the stairs to make sure that I am going to make it up okay.  She will also check up on me periodically.

All in all, I would not trade my aussie for any other dog and when we look into getting another dog this fall, it will definitely be another aussie!
