I have had many breeds in my life and yes I understand that Pits get a bad rap.  I have known many and they are loving dogs.

I rescued a red nose pit several years ago and she is just a gem.  She is a therapy dog for a disabled person and loves every moment of it.  She goes into stores and is always found in the passenger seat of the van.

If trained well you will have a wonderful addition to your family.  With that said you have to put in the time and energy to train your dog correctly.  They are not a dog to get if you don't want to be hands on.

Love Pits and they will love you back!

I do think Put Bulls get a bad rap because many are used for fighting and such and we hear such horror stories. I have a Jack Russell Terrier and he can be a little bullish if we let him because we got him at 5 months old and his previous owner allowed him to bite and get agressive. He's just a bit snappy when he has a cookie or a treat. Any dog can get out of control is not trained properly even the ones considered the tamest.
