My roommmate's pitt bull terrier just had the cutest litter of puppies! She (the dog) had 10..I'm told that it's unusual for a litter to have 10 in it and have all the pups survive. My roommate made sure these pups had the chance to stay and grow up in this world. She was very conscience about the well-being of those little ones.

I'm also told that the breed is hard to own; the animal people in the city won't allow anyone under 18 to adopt one, and you have to have a 6 foot fence. Plus, a whole slew of other requirements go along, just for adopting a pitt bull terrier. That is unfortunate because as a witness to my little cocker spaniel who about chewed off a neighbors young shepherds foot while walking the neighborhood, I'd say that the only two that wanted to play were the pitt bull terriers. My cocker spaniel was out for blood! I don't know what would have happened had she not been reigned back in, just in the nick of time!

At any rate, the puppies are fabulous and they will go to good homes, eventually. It's sad to me to think that people are predjudice of a breed just because some made it bad...It's not like the dogs are born bad... It's the owner that makes them that way. So, just a word: Pitt Bull Terriers are loving and gentle creatures, as God intended, and they deserve your love and companionship just as any other animal would appreciate your gentle care and compassion.

Please ask that your roommate spay her dog. Despite all the rules, there are WAY to many pit bulls in shelters. Only people who are serious breeders should breed. There are also so many irresponsible owners out there, how does your roommate know that these dogs will be cared for properly in their new homes!?

I agree. And blame all the people who buy into the hype without even getting to know this type of dog. Yeah Pibbles!

I love pibbles! I work with animals and it breaks my heart the bad rep they get, blame the deed and not the breed, actually blame the owner for not being responsible and training a dog to fight or be mean!

I am a huge supporter of the bully breeds. I sincerely hope that your roommate does not sell her puppies but gives them to great, loving homes. They are very adorable!
