Pros

good protectors, very affectionate, crave affection, Love their humans, Loving, fun to play with, Want to please their human

Cons

are very stubborn, breed has a bad reputation, stubborn, good jumpers make good escape artists

I have a beautiful 4 year old American Pitt Bulldog named Maggie. She is such a good girl. We have hand raised her since she was 3 weeks old. Of course she is an inside dog and thinks she is still small enough to sit in your lap! We have 4 children and 1 grandchild and Maggie loves them all. She would never , ever hurt anyone unless she was protecting her family.

If you fight any dog, it is gonna be mean. When you mistreat and abuse any dog they will learn to be mean and aggressive.

I totally agree. And they are so resilient that they can bounce back from a bad upbringing and still be one of the best dogs ever!

I agree!!!! I have a pitt...and she is a big cuddler and thinks she is a lap dog also! I hate how pitts are judged all the time!!

A vet friend of mine is fond of saying "crazy dog, crazy owner." Nice review. Guess that also goes for kids.

I agree with your assessment about the dogs. I get a little sad every time I hear about one having to be put down because it was trained to fight by a stupid owner.
