I know that everyone out there has heard of the phrase, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Not all Pits are bad my little sister has a female and a male pit and they are the sweetest, most tame dogs I have ever seen. Now even though I have three dogs of my own I am deathly afraid of dogs that I don't know. When my sister brought her pits to visit I was able to see how this type of dog acted and they are loving and very funny to watch play in the snow. Her dogs are so spoiled that my sister has to keep her t.v. on the Animal Planet while she is at work or they will cry and moan the entire time she is gone. The female is afraid of tile floors and in order to get the frot or back door she has to cross tile. So my sister has to carry her outside! Now when my sister was 6 years old we were getting picked up from the babysitters and as my mom was paying her we were outside the front door playing and to our surpirse we found a litter of puppies under the porch of the neighbors house. As my sister went under the porch to get one of the puppies all of a sudden I heard her screaming and choking. I ran over to the next apartment and grapped my sister by her legs and carried her (upside down) up the flight of stairs to get to the babysitters apartment. When my sister was released from the hospital the doctors told my mom that if it were an inch to the left the dog would have snapped her jugalar vein and killed her. My sister recieved over 700 stitches in her neck, nose and all inside her mouth. But the dog was not a pit, it was a Chow. Now if my sister were to be judgmental and completely hate dogs for the one that hurt her she would have missed out on her new little children. I understand that some people are being hurt by this type of dog but there are others that are doing it too. You can never really tame an animal, there is a reason why they are called that.
