Dodge Ram 1500 - 2007 Review

We recently purchased a vacation home in northeast Tennessee and were going to be making the drive from south Florida up there a few times a year. My husband had a 2005 Dodge Durango extended cab at the time and we used it for the first trip up. After 12 hours in the extended cab it was clear that our 9 year old daughter and our boxer would not be able to make the trip in the extended cab much longer. My husband decided to start looking for a bigger truck once we returned and found a Dodge Ram with a quad cab (I think that's what it's called) and a 8 foot bed. We purchased the truck and made our next trip to TN a month later. This truck is so comfortable that my husband was able to drive the whole trip himself without my help driving and our daughter and the dog could both lay down at the same time in the back seat. The back seats fold up and there is a hidden panel covered in utility type carpet that folds down. This proved to be perfect for the dog, along with all the hidden compartments for storing everything. The truck sits high so, even though it's a little hard for me to get into (I'm 5'4"), you can see the rode wonderfully once you're up there. The only cons I can think of are the huge gas tank and the truck is so big it is hard to park and maneuver around tight areas. Although we did make it from south Florida to South Carolina on one tank of gas and we have never been able to do that before. We love this truck and will defiantly be keeping it around for awhile.
