Owning a Dodge Neon was the worst nightmare of my life.  I was very excited when I purchased my new Dodge Neon only to be disappointed by the quality and performance of the vehicle.  at 6 months old I had to start replacing parts, so much so I wanted to register the vehicle as a "lemon", but I was told it had to be the same problem over and over again, not the failing of different parts.  The best was when I was going on vacation and my car just stopped 180 miles from home.  After I had the car towed at the cost of $200, I was told that my just under 2 year old Neon with 53,000 miles on it had a "blown engine".  I contacted the dealership and Dodge directly and I was told "we are so sorry to hear this".  There was no offer to help with the repairs, no discount on parts or labor.  After i spent over $3,000 dollars to have the engine replaced about 1 month later I was told I had a leak in the radiator and it had to be replaces.  At this point I could not even bring myself to spend $5 for gas to put in the vehicle.  To think, I traded in a Geo Prism with over 150,000 miles that never had a mechanical problem because I needed to spend $750 for inspection.  That car is probably still on the road as the engine and transmission were made by Toyota.  Thanks to Dodge I will never buy another American made vehicle.
